A knock came at my door. It was Rosalie I starred back at her surprised.
“Hey Bella” she said a little nervously “Can we talk?” I nodded and gestured for her to come in. I closed the door behind her and turned. She was sitting on the bed feeling the Egyptian cotton.
“What’s up?” I asked curious why Rosalie wanted to talk, of all people. She looked up sadly.
“Bella” she started “I would like to apologize.” I raised my eyebrows confused.
“For What?” I asked. Rosalie hadn’t been the warmest person towards me but still I hadn’t blamed her much. I’m human and she wants to be. She sighed, thinking.
“Bella I know at first that it was just about the human thing, but…” She trailed off for a second. “But I was stubborn; I didn’t want to like you Bella because if I did I knew that I would get attached.” She stood and took a step toward me. I tensed for a moment but relaxed my muscles when she gave me a look of distain that said she would not hurt me. “I never really knew the exact reason why I hated you so much but now that your back and your going through this whole Jeremy thing I realize.” She paused looking away and tilting her head. “That it’s because…” I waited impatient to know what she was trying to say.
“What Rosalie?” I urged. Her lip began to tremble as she fixed her gaze on my stomach.
“Bella you’re allowed to have a family. You’re allowed to be a mother. You’re allowed…” she looked up at my face. “To have children” I knew that if Rosalie could cry she would be right now. I reached out and pulled her to me embracing her with a warm hug. She buried her head in my shoulder.
“I’m so sorry Rosalie I had no Idea.” We broke away and she smiled sniffing.
“You wouldn’t have known could you? I hide my emotions pretty well Bella” she said I grinned. “Well most of the time at least.” We laughed.
“So…” I said standing there awkwardly. “Does this mean that we’re friends now?” I asked hopefully. “Or is that just wishful thinking?” she laughed and shook her head.
“No we can be friends.” I smiled.
“Cool.” I paused my eyes sparkling with ambition “Then as friends how about a shopping trip?” I asked. She grinned.
“You read my mind.”
I sat in my office starring at the pile of cases on my desk. It was a pretty time consuming pile, but right now all my thought were on Bella and how I was going to get her back. No doubt I would, I always get what I want, but I need to figure out how I’m going to accomplish it.
A knock came at my door followed by Alec, Rhys escorted by Marishka, Aleera, and Lenda. My vampire assistants. Alec and Rhys looked at the three of them with lust, a smile played at my lips. They only wish they could.
“Have you found her yet?” I asked distracting them. Alec turned to my attention, ready to answer.
“Well we were able to track her as far as New Jersey, but where in New Jersey we do not know.” I glanced at Rhys, His expression unreadable. I sighed and leaned forward in my chair.
“Find her.” I started then sparked an idea “Find her and you will be heavily rewarded.” They exchanged a glance.
“Rewarded with what?” Rhys asked. I grinned and nodded toward the girls whom were sitting on my desk now.
“Deal.” They agreed.
