Bella’s POV

When your best friend is gay, everything is different, more fun. My gay best friend happens to be, Edward Cullen. However, I don’t see the point of him being gay; he could get any girl he wanted. He had perfectly chiseled features and deep green eyes. He looked like a walking, living, breathing sculpture of a Greek God. If I didn’t have a boyfriend and Edward wasn’t gay, let me tell you…

“Bella, what are you thinking about?” Edward asked.

I laughed. “Well, you.”

“Oh, really.”

I nodded, still giggling.

“What’s so funny, Chica?” Jared asked as he joined Edward and I on the balcony. He kissed my cheek and ruffled Edward’s hair.

“How’s my favorite Klondike bar?” he asked, smirking at Edward.

“Seriously, Jared. What the hell does that even mean?” I asked.

“Hmmm, I don’t know. Does my favorite gay person count?”

Edward sighed, but then he smiled, letting Jared know he didn’t take any offense to what he had said. Jared shrugged, grabbed a beer out of the cooler, and pulled a chair up next to me.

“Quil and Alice are coming over tonight. Alice said some shit about movie night,” Jared informed us.

“Oooh. I hope Quil brings Jake. He’s so effing hot,” Edward said.

“Dude, he’s not gay. Do you not see that skank that’s always clung to his side? That Jessica Stanley girl?” Jared laughed. “It’s not right, man.”

“They’re not together. She just can’t see that he doesn’t want her,” Ed offered.

“ You know what? I’m going to find you a guy. He’ll be hotter than Jake, too.”

“Like that’s possible.”

“It is. Trust me.” Jared chugged the rest if his beer, flicked his can off the ledge of the balcony, and burped loudly.

“You’re such a pig. That’s disgusting,” I commented.

“Oh, please. Like you don’t burp? I heard you one time and you sounded like a grown man.”

I punched him in the arm. “Jared! I do not!”

He rubbed his arm. “Jeesh, I was just joking. Hit me again and you’re going to get a spanking. Damn, Bella, that kind of hurt.”

“Sorry, babe. I’ll make it up later.” I winked. And then I blushed because I couldn’t believe I just said that out loud. When I’m with Jared, I don’t actually think about what I’m going to say before I say it.

“I’d like that.” Jared pulled me in for a kiss.

“Ugh. You guys sicken me. I’m going to get more beers,” Edward said.

I made a gun with my fingers and pretended to shoot Edward.

“I’m so going to report that to Chief Swan, Bella. I do believe that’s a threat,” he said.

“Whatever,” I said.

Just as Edward walked out, Alice skipped in. She brought Quil and Jake. Unfortunately, ‘That Jessica Stanley Girl’ was with them. Even though Jake was one of my best friends, I hated his girlfriend. Swear to god, she talked so fast that she sounded like one of those auctioneer dudes.

“Hey, Bells,” Jake said.

“Hi, Jake.”

Jessica was practically dry-humping Jake as they walked toward the table. “Ugh. Why is she here?” I heard Jessica whisper to Jake.

“Um, excuse me, bitch. I’m right here. Try saying that to my face,” I suggested.

Jessica rolled her eyes and made a flicking motion towards me with her hand. “Jared, you better keep your bitch on a leash. You don’t want her getting hurt, do you?” she asked.

Oh. Hell. No.

Jessica turned her back to me-which was a huge mistake- and started whispering something in Jake’s ear. I stood up, knocking my chair down from underneath me. Jared grabbed my arm. “Don’t fucking touch me,” I practically growled.

He dropped my arm and smiled. “Okay, okay. Fine. Kick some ass girl.”

I smiled back, letting him know I was sorry. Now back to business. I didn’t have any Vaseline handy, but I sure as hell had on my lucky converse.

I grabbed a fistful of Jessica’s hair and wrapped it around my hand. I yanked her head back. “You wanna say that to my face now?” I sneered.

“Bitch, please-” she started say.

I yanked her hair again and pushed her down so that she was on her back. I put my knees on either side of her torso and pinned her down by her wrists. I literally got in her face.

“Don’t fuck with me,” I said. “Now, since you made your presence known, you can leave. Nobody wants you here.”

I was well aware that everyone was watching us and I didn’t care. Someone needed to tell her that she wasn’t welcome here. “What are you going to do if I don’t leave?” she asked.

Okay, so I had her pinned down and she was still trying to threaten me? I do not understand this chick. I pulled my fist back and grimaced at the noise it made when it collided with her nose. “That’s what I’m going to do,” I stated.

Jessica grabbed her nose, pushed me out of the way ran in the house screaming. I stood up and brushed myself off. Edward walked out, two cases of beer in each hand. He looked from me to Jessica, then back to me.

“Did I miss something?”

***

“Jake, I’m really sorry,” I said. “Don’t be mad at me though. She asked for it.”

Jake sighed and plopped down on the couch next to me. Out of the corner of my eye. I saw Jared scoot a little bit closer to me. He was all defensive because he knew Jake had a crush on me for forever, even though he actually started dating girls’ freshmen year. I'm pretty sure Jake's over me now.

“Bells, for the last time, I don’t care. I’ve been cheating on her for the past week with Victoria,” he said.

“Victoria Riley?” I asked.

He nodded, smiling brightly.

“Aw. She’s so pretty. So you really like her?”

“Yeah, she’s not like a sex fiend or anything, she actually wants to take things slow. And I'm okay with that."

“Wow, that’s great. I ‘m so happy for you buddy.”

“Yeah. So I see you and Jare-bear are doing okay.”

“Yup.”

“So,” Jared said, making a one-syllable word into a three- syllable word. “Alice, what movie did you get anyway?”

“Um, Step-brothers.”

“That sounds gay as hell. No offense, Edward.”

“None taken.”

“Well, I heard it was funny, so we’re watching it.” Jared didn’t argue after that, he knew nobody could win in an argument with Alice.

When the movie first started, I thought it was going to be stupid, but I was wrong. Turns out the ‘step-brothers’ were actually forty year-old men. We had this thing that whenever we finished a movie that we would talk about it and discuss our favorite parts.

“So Jared, what was your favorite part?” Alice asked.

Jared was still laughing as he tried to answer her. “Oh, man. I don’t even know. That shit was funny when he rubbed his nuts on homeboy’s drum set. Bella, what was yours?”

“Well, it was funny when they made the bunk-beds and Dale was like, ‘It’s so bad! There’s blood everywhere!’ I love how there was only a little scratch.”

“That’s mine, too,” Quil said.

There was a knock on the door and Edward went to answer it. In came, Rosalie, Paul, Jasper and Renesmee.

“Jasper, what did I tell you about wearing those shit-kickers?” Alice asked.

Jasper shrugged. “Nessie like them. So they stay.”

“Hey, where’s Emmett and Maria?” I asked.

“Who knows? Maria took him out for their two-week anniversary. You know how that goes,” Ness said.

“Poor kid,” I muttered.

“You guys just missed a good ass movie,” Jake said. “And a fight.”

“Aw, man. Who fought?” Paul asked.

“It wasn’t really that much of a fight,” I said. “I punched the bitch in the nose and she ran away.”

“Well, who was the victim?”

“Jessica Stanley.”

“Really?” Rosalie asked. Rose and I never got along, so it was weird that she even acknowledged my presence. Not trying to be rude or anything, but Rose has always been a bitch. In second grade she took the top off the glue bottle and dumped it on my head, all because I accidentally slammed the door in her face. She always hangs out with us, but her and I keep our distance.

“Yeah,” Quil said when I didn’t see anything. “It was so funny. Jessica was all like ‘Jared, keep your bitch on a leash. And Bella was like ‘don’t fuck with me.”

“I’ve wanted to beat her up since eight grade,” Rose said.

“Yeah, well…” I let the sentence trail off, not knowing what to say to Rosalie Hale.

Rose grabbed Paul’s hand and they sat in the beanbags opposite mine.

“Look, Bella, I know there’s like this beef we have between us but I don’t hate you. Can we stop fighting?” she asked.

“Um, sure.”

“Okay good.”

Jared’s POV

I got this amazing idea when we were all getting messed up in Edward’s living room. My brother, Seth, was coming for a visit tomorrow, my brother is gay, and I could hook him up with Edward. Well, shit, why didn’t I think of that sooner? They could be like two Klondike bars in a freezer. Okay, that probably didn’t make any sense, but I’m drunk as hell, even my thoughts aren’t coherent.

I stood from the deliciously comfortable beanbag and stumbled my way to the front of the room.

“Jared, what are you doing?” Bella asked.

“I have good news to deliver. Everyone come over yonder!”

Sighing dramatically, everyone got comfortable in the living room and looked at me with eager eyes.

“Well, actually it’s for you, Edward.”

Eddie smiled. “You’re gay now,” he guessed.

“Hell nah. Not that kind of good news. My brother, Seth is coming in to town tomorrow.” I reached over to the counter and took two shots.

“And that’s good news because…” Edward persisted, like he knew what I was going to say but still didn’t want to be too hopeful

“Because my friend, Seth is gayer that Ryan Seacrest and Clay Aiken put together.”

Edward gasped so loud, that it could’ve very well been a shriek. I laughed so hard that I had to grip the counter for support. I tried to say, “chill out buddy” but it just sounded like I was gasping for air, which I was. Bella came over and tried to guide me back towards the beanbags. Her foot got caught on the end table and she brought both of us down.

“Bella, it should be illegal for you to drink,” I said. “Alcohol mixed with your clumsiness will cause a worldwide power outage.”

Bella was laughing so hard, as she continued to lie on top of me. Every inch of her little body was pressed against me and her laughter was intoxicating. And then I was laughing and the way our bodies moved together felt great. Jared Junior was trying to come out and play; I had to do something quick. I shifted to that we were lying side-by-side.

“Later,” she whispered.

“So it’s set then,” Edward said. “Seth will come over at two tomorrow. I should have the house clean by then.”
