4. Random Girl (Bella's POV)

Rating 5/5   Word Count 544   Review this Chapter

“Why would this random girl come to me? And why would Mike want to pick her up?” I rambled on in my head. “What would Charlie think? Oh my god, Charlie! He’s going to pop a blood vessel because I brought a freakin’ stranger into our house without his permission!” I glanced over at Selena, who was in my passenger seat. Before I could stop myself, I blurted out, “You look really familiar.”

She turned to me and asked, “Who do I remind you of?”

“This one guy, Edward Cullen. He goes to my school.” I blushed. “Thankfully she can’t see anything.” I added guiltily in my head.

“Oh,” was all she said, and when I looked back at her, she was facing away from me again.

Charlie took it very well, which surprised me.

Selena was sitting on our couch in this very…colorful outfit. Black flats, purple skinny jeans, a yellow and white polka-dotted tank top under a rainbow colored sweatshirt along with a red blind fold and a necklace that looked like a tiny rose. I didn't think nothing of it and went into the kitchen.

I was making us both a cup of hot chocolate when Charlie came home.

“Bella?” he called out. No…it’s the Easter Bunny!

“Hi Dad!” I called back from the kitchen. I heard him make his way into the living room and then I heard him stop.

“Bella!”

Here we go…I walked into the living room very carefully, trying not to spill any hot cocoa. Charlie was…not as angry as I thought he would be. I sat down next to Selena and handed her hot chocolate to her while saying, “Careful, it’s hot.” She smiled her thanks and started playing with the spoon that I left in it. Then I looked up at Charlie and said, “Dad, this is Selena Mason. She lives down in La Push with Margareta Nimble. We saw her walking along the road and Mike thought it would be a good idea to pick her up because she looked like she was lost.”

“And if they wouldn’t have found me, I would still be wandering out there in the rain,” Selena added. Charlie looked at her and she smiled. Her smiled seemed to have melted Charlie’s heart. “Well…”

“Also, we called Margareta. She said that she didn’t mind, and that she was going away on some vacation with all her cats and she didn’t want Selena to be all alone,” I quickly added.

Charlie took a few minutes to talk, but when he did, he said, “Fine, you can stay. But for how long?”

“It depends on how long you want me,” Selena exclaimed.

“Well…alright,” Charlie finally said.

“Great!” I practically yelled, “You get to go to school with me tomorrow!” “And I get to see if the familiarity between you and Edward wasn’t just my imagination.”

“Yup,” Selena said, “Great.”
