A New Lie

Summary:
Twilight/HP crossover This is the sequel to A New Start but you don't have to read that to understand this. Hello! Have you ever had you boyfriend cheat on you, find out your parents are dead then find out that you aren’t who you thought you were for your entire life? All on the same day? Chances are you answer is no. Mine is yes. And adding Draco Malfoy into the mix doesn’t make a good time for me. My name is Hermione Granger.

Notes:
I do NOT own any twilight or harry potter characters or anything that is similar to either of those two books. Alice is my AWESOME beta for this story too and i need your opinion as to if i should continue the Alice Funnies from A New Start or not.

Chapter 9

For the next month I kept silent around Draco and tried to avoid any unnecessary communication with him. While Ginny, Harry, and Ron gossiped about their pen pals I kept silent hoping and wishing Draco would do the same. Luckily he did. Probably because he was just as embarrassed as I was. I was embarrassed about all the things that I said to him that had been about him. I was embarrassed because I had confided in him.

I threw myself into gymnastics leaving right after my last class and returning late at night. I practiced and perfected and then re-choreographed my final routine and then did it all over again. I was a workaholic. I would barely talk, I barely ate all I did was work. I wasn’t able to think.

After weeks of preparation the last competition came the week before the last day of school. This was obviously the most important competition because everyone was coming to see who I really was. This was the show that I would reveal myself as Hermione Granger and I was drop dead nervous. Okay maybe that’s exaggerating it a bit but I was still nervous.

I placed the ever so simple glamour charm on for the last time, along with a charm that made my hair straight, long, and red. It gave me deep blue eyes. Then pulled on a navy blue, long sleeved leotard that resembled my dress from the ball, navy blue with a sweetheart neckline with silver trim along the top.

My team and I walked out to roaring cheers from not only our house but from the entire school as we lined up in performing order. As always I was last as contestant #16. The rest of the girls preformed like usually do so it was easy to guess who was who.

“Now for contestant #16,” called the announcer.

I can almost see it
That dream I’m dreaming
But there's a voice inside my head saying
"You'll never reach it"

Every step I'm taking
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking

But I gotta keep trying
Gotta keep my head held high

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb

The struggles I'm facing
The chances I'm taking
Sometimes might knock me down
But no, I'm not breaking

I may not know it
But these are the moments that
I'm gonna remember most, yeah
Just gotta keep going

And I, I got to be strong
Just keep pushing on

'Cause there's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb, yeah!

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Somebody's gonna have to lose

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb, yeah!

Keep on moving, keep climbing
Keep the faith, baby
It's all about, it's all about the climb
Keep the faith, keep your faith, whoa

I finished to the usual uproar and consultation from the students. It was time for the unveiling. I looked at the Slytherin section trying to figure out who knew who I was but I saw no knowing face at all. Finally the announcer called my name: “Contestant #16 is believed to be Taylor James. Is this correct #16?”

Now it was time for the moment of truth. Everybody looked at me.

“No,” I stated clearly as everybody gasped. “My name is…” I stepped forward and removed the charm. “Hermione Granger, also known as Taylor James,” I finished surveying the scene. Most of the students were shocked because some of my routines hadn’t been…well Hermione. I had taken chances and done things that most people wouldn’t ever think that Hermione would do. Some students didn’t care but most began to whisper with each other. Harry, Ginny and Ron were just shocked. They didn’t move. I continued to scan the faces of the audience and the other gymnasts. When my eyes reached the Slytherin section of the audience there was only one face that did not looked shocked or surprised in the least.

It was the face of Draco Malfoy.
