I woke up in my most favorite place in the world, my love’s cold, and hard arms. The sunlight seeped through the open curtains and ignited my little room and the world seemed to absorb my happiness as I turned back and saw my favorite sight in the world. My love, my whole reason for existence. My Edward Anthony Masen Cullen.

He smiled my favorite crooked smile and when my heart started going a million miles per hour, his smile turned into an impish grin.

“Good Morning, my angel.” He said in his smooth, quiet, velvety voice.

“Good Morning Edward.” My voice sounded raspy and kind of off next to his, but he didn’t seem to notice things like that, which I was eternally happy for.

“So how are you this morning?”

“Um, good…I’m gonna go get my human minute really quick.” I said, standing up. Even though he said he didn’t think I had morning breath, I was still self-conscious.

“I’ll be waiting.” He said, making a statue of Adonis sitting on my bed. My own personal Greek God. I grabbed my toiletries bag off my desk and a set of clean clothes from my dresser. I ran to the bathroom, brushed my teeth and stepped into the shower.

The hot water seemed to be trying to relax my muscles but they just wouldn’t budge from the excitement that was running in my blood. Today was a big day. A really big day.

I got out of the shower and quickly toweled my body dry. Stepping into my blue jeans and a dark green blouse, I turned off the light and ran back to my room.

But of course, my stupid klutzy feet tripped on the way. Before I could fall face down on the carpet and probably break my nose, two white flashes grabbed my waist and pulled me up. I looked into Edward’s eyes and tried to slow my breathing.

“Thanks for catching me.”

“Bella, honey, will try to be more careful? I really don’t want to lose you because of an accident that could have been avoided.” He said, smoldering me with his beautiful topaz eyes. My smile turned to a frown and I crossed my arms over my chest. I really didn’t want to play “lets make fun of the girl who should be disabled.”

“I’m sorry for saying that out loud.” He chuckled in his bell-like laugh. I was so distracted by the sound that I forgot I was acting mad.

“I love catching you every time you fall.”

“Well, you don’t have to be so arrogant about it. We don’t all have vampire reflexes. Although…” I trailed off suggestively. His face became abruptly hard and he raised his perfect eyebrow as if daring me to say the rest of the sentence.

“Although what, Bella?” His voice could cut steel, but I ignored it.

“Although, soon enough…I will.” I said quietly while turning away from his face and making my bed. I thought I heard him say something under his breath that sounded like “so eager for eternal damnation.”

“Ok, breakfast time for the human!” I said, quoting his favorite phrase of my humanity. It worked, he laughed and threw me over his shoulder. It was in one lithe movement, but I had to catch my breath after he sat me down on a chair next to the kitchen.

“So what would you like, my dear?” His voice still sounded pained, but i could tell he was trying to hide it.

“I want eggs and toast and orange juice. But I can’t have that.” I sighed.

“And why not?” he said curiously.

“Because, knowing me, and knowing what today is, it’s probably just going to come back up in an unpleasant way, so I’m just going to have some milk.”

“Bella, I don’t know why you’re so nervous, it’s just a high school graduation.”

“Yeah, easy for you to say, you have graduated like 16 times, and you don’t even have to worry about tripping on stage…” I mumbled and stared at the floor. T

oday was going to be so scary, I didn’t even know why I was going through with this. Oh yeah, I remember: Edward and me together forever.

“Don’t worry, everything is going to be perfectly fine.” He assured me and suddenly a ringing came from inside his pocket. It was his cell phone and it flipped open and flashed to his ear faster than I could even wonder what it was.

“Hello? Hi Alice…No, she’s awake…I don’t know if that’s such a good idea…yeah, I understand, but she will be angry with me…fine! You talk to her and tell her, because I’m not going to ruin her day… whatever Alice.”

I had the strange feeling they were talking about me. I narrowed my eyes as he handed the phone to me.

“Bella, you need to get over here now!” Alice sounded angry on the other line.

“Just have Edward get you over because it’s important!”

“Fine, we’ll be there in a little bit.” More like a couple of hours...

“No, Isabella, NOW!” she screamed.

Edward visibly flinched and stepped back a step. I barely ever got this angry, but I didn’t care! She is not going to force me to dress up and wear high heels and make this little walk to get my degree even harder!

“Bella, if you don’t get here in the next five minutes I am going to get Emmett over there, and bring you here unconscious!” She sounded so angry that I cringed and sighed.

There was no way I was going to get out of this. I hung up the phone and looked at Edward. He was kind of leaning back as if I was going to explode in front of his very eyes. I rolled my eyes and chugged down the remains of my glass of milk.

“So should we drive or do you want to run?” he asked tensely.

He grabbed me and pulled me into his arms. When I still didn’t smile he sighed. He bent down and brushed his cold lips onto mine. I closed my eyes and it took me about a second to throw my body into the kiss. I ran my hands up his shoulders and was about to twirl my fingers through his hair, when he noticed what I was going to do; he broke the kiss and leaned his forehead on mine. I took me so long to get my breath back that I felt dizzy.

He suddenly tossed me onto his back and tightened my arms and legs around him. Then we were running. We got there in about three minutes and I barely got to get off his back until Alice shot into the air and grabbed me. I screamed but she ignored me and almost threw me into her new yellow 911 Turbo and started to speed off on the highway.

“Alice! Please, Please, Please!” I moaned. We were going 120 miles per hour and my nerves just couldn’t handle it.

“Bella, do you know what time it is? We only have 2 hours! Why did you wake up so late?” Alice said.

“Excuse me? I did NOT plan on going to Port Angeles today!”

“Then your crazy if you think I was going to let you graduate high school for the first time in an old outfit!”

I was sitting on Alice’s bed, waiting for her to finish getting ready. I was already dressed in a ridiculously frilly, blue cocktail dress that had a ridiculously low neckline, and ridiculously high heels to go matching with it. Yeah, you heard me…it was ridiculous.

Alice stepped out of the bathroom in a gorgeous black mini dress with a halter-top and she looked like a runway model.

“Alice, I don’t understand! If we’re going to have to wear those baggy green graduation gowns anyway, why are we dressed up??” I never understood Alice; she was eccentric. But she was my best friend.

“Bella, don’t think about it.” She said firmly, as if that ended the conversation. She picked me up and ran me down the stairs of the beautiful Cullen mansion.

Everyone was ready and a huge banner that read “congratulations” was hanging on the wall. Emmett, Rosalie, Jasper, Esme, and Carlislie were standing under the banner, patiently waiting for us.

I looked around as Alice let go of me, but I couldn’t see Edward anywhere. “He is going to meet us at the high school, Bella.” Jasper said, sensing my panic. They all drove to Forks High School and met up with Charlie.
