Her heartbeat was racing faster than I thought possible as I picked her up and took her to my Vanquish.

"Where are we going?" She asked as I made a turn on to a highway, leading away from my house.

"I thought we could use a more private night alone." I said softly, without really answering her question. She was quiet and smiling the rest of the way as one of Chopin’s nocturnes played in my stereo.

Bella’s POV:

While Edward was driving, I was seriously thanking the heavens that he couldn’t read my mind. All I could think about was what Alice and Rosalie had discussed with me last night…about the “wedding night” which, as they said, was definitely going to be the night I lost my virginity.

“Ok, you guys are nuts! You don’t even know if Edward is planning to have sex with me or not…in fact, he probably won’t, because, you know, the whole ‘he wants to drink my blood’ issue…” I said to an eager Alice and Rosalie. They were needlessly giving me tips on how to be seductive.

“Bella, come on! You are so gullible if you think Edward can hold on for any longer. I asked Jasper, and he said that the night I gave you my night suit, Edward had a serious arousal attack!” Alice cheered. Rosalie smirked and nodded.

I must have gone as bright as a freaking tomato. I can’t believe they were talking about my fiancée’s hard-on…although it was a very interesting topic. I never--in a million years--would believe that I could give him an “arousal attack”. Wow.

I sighed and rolled my eyes. “Fine, so what should I do?” I asked. For a whole hour and a half they filled me in on the best ways to be--ahem--more enticing than usual.

I could feel my heart rate increase ten fold as Edward stopped the car in front of a five star hotel that I had to crane my neck to look up at. I didn’t even know there were five star hotels here in Forks!

“Are you coming, Bella?” Edward asked me softly. I looked around and he was already holding the door open for me. I took his hand and got out, being careful to hold on to my dress so it wouldn’t drag all over the floor and get dirty.

“Valet, sir?” A young man in a uniform suit came out to ask Edward. Edward nodded and threw him the keys and the boy grinned widely for some odd reason. Probably seeing the confusion on my face, Edward explained.

“He’s excited that he gets to drive my Aston Martin, even if it is only for 3 minutes.” Edward said smugly. I rolled my eyes and smiled. Edward and his cars…

“Room number 106 under Edward Cullen?” He said to the sleepy-looking concierge at the large ring-in desk. He nodded solemnly and started to click on the computer. I looked around and saw that the lobby was practically empty, occupied only by a couple of businessmen who were either talking on their cell phones or typing on their laptops.

Suddenly, Edward leaned down and kissed me full on the lips before turning away and grinning. I could feel my eyes widen with confusion, and bewilderedly I put my hand to my lips, wondering what had just happened.

“Edward what---”

“Shhh, I’ll explain in the elevator.” Edward chuckled melodiously.

“Oh, yes, Mr. and Mrs. Cullen. You’re room is ready. Here’s the room key. Have a pleasant night in the Marriott Hotel, if you need anything, please don’t hesitate to call extension 101 on your room phone. Thank you.” The concierge said in a bored tone before he snapped his fingers twice and an enthusiastic-looking bellhop arrived next to me.

“Luggage, ma’am?” The bellhop – wearing an idiotic grin and ladies lipstick that couldn’t have been his—asked.

“No, thank you.” Edward said -- we only had one small bag that Edward could easily carry -- before taking my hand and leading me to the golden elevator. As soon as we got inside, Edward pushed the “floor 17” button. As the doors closed, he burst out laughing.

“What was going on?” I demanded, confused but still smiling.

“There was this old man who was having some interesting thoughts about you, Bella. I decided to give him a little clue as to why you were wearing a wedding dress. The idiot.” He chuckled, shaking his head. I smiled and remembered the bellhop.

“What about the bellhop? Was he having a good night also?” I giggled. Edward nodded and started to laugh even harder. By the time the elevator door opened, we were both holding each other, laughing our heads off.

Reality came crashing down on me as I remembered where we were, and what was about to happen. I abruptly stopped laughing, but Edward was still chuckling as he picked me up, bridal style with our bag slung onto his back.

He carried me to a red door and somehow managed to slide the key in and open the door without even letting go of me. When he walked in, I gasped. We were in the so-called honeymoon suite.

The room was lit with small candles and there were little hearts and stars everywhere. The wallpaper was red and pink, and there was a huge bathroom connected to the room. There was even a grand piano in the corner of the room, with white ivory keys glistening in the candlelight. But the thing that really freaked my heart out was the enormous king sized bed that was in the middle of the room. It was white with pretty red roses and tons of pillows. Oh my gosh, please don’t let me start hyperventilating! I prayed quietly as Edward set me down and held my face in his hands, forcing me to look up at him. My face was so hot; I could probably fry an egg on it.

“Now, my sweetheart. Do you mind telling me what is going on in that beautiful head of yours, that has your heart beats flying and your gorgeous face flushed?” Edward asked me. I remembered what Alice said and softly put my hands on his chest, slowly trailing up to his neck, where I turned my head to the side and laid a kiss there. I could feel one of his arms encircling my waist, pulling me more towards him.

“I…wanted to discuss something with you…” I whispered quietly, afraid that my voice would crack if I spoke out loud.

“Would you like to discuss it after you hear my new song for you, or before?” His cold fingers traced the outside of my ear and he looked as if he were examining my earring.

“You see---wait, you wrote a song for me?” I squeaked, looking up at him. He smiled and nodded.

“Oh! I want to hear it!” We both grinned as we walked towards the piano and I sat down next to him.

“I worked on it last night, so it might not be as good as your lullaby.” He said before he put his long slim fingers onto the keys and out came a beautiful sound that struck my heart and soul.

I was so entranced in the gorgeous music that it came as a shock to me when he started to sing. Lyrics? Edward never writes lyrics!

She’s in every ray of my sunshine,

Every smile on my face,

Every breath that I take,

Every choice that I make.

She’s my angel

She’s my light.

In every thing that I do,

She’s right by my side.

Every time that I touch her,

My soul shivers,

Every time that she cries,

My heart quivers.

Every song that I sing,

Every letter that I write,

I want it all for her,

My shining light.

She’s my angel

She’s my light.

In every thing that I do,

She’s right by my side.

Every time that I jump,

Every time that I fall,

She’s right there with me,

Through it all.

She’s my angel

She’s my light.

In every thing that I do,

She’s right by my side.

She allures me,

She delights me,

She overwhelms me,

She fascinates me.

She is special and she’s different,

She has her very own fragrance.

She is so very vibrant,

She is so very brilliant…

She’s my angel

She’s my light.

In every thing that I do,

She’s right by my side.

Bella means beautiful,

My beautiful angel.

Bella means beautiful,

My beautiful angel.

The entire song, so beautiful and pure, brought tears to my eyes, making me feel so different. Before, I had been really nervous and self-conscious about everything. Now, though, I felt reassured and loved, making my heart calm down enough that I wasn’t blushing anymore.

Edward turned and smiled at me, reaching over and kissing my cheeks, following where the tears had left marks. If I had a dime for every sweet thing he did for me, I would be as rich as him.

“What are you grinning about?” He asked me. I shrugged and leaned into him, giving him a kiss. Originally, the kiss was an innocent, but tender one, but after a couple seconds, I could feel his tongue on my lip to which I eagerly responded to, opening my mouth for him.

The kiss became a little wilder as the boundaries we first had went out the window. My hands were entangled into his hair, and one of his hands was holding my cheek while the other was around my waist again.

The way we were sitting sideways on the piano bench didn’t really work for my position, so without even thinking about it, I turned and sat onto his lap, not breaking the kiss once. His arm tightened its hold on me and I felt something soft and realized that I was suddenly lying down on the bed, while he was hovering over me.

I was the first to break away, gasping for air, but Edward kept going, kissing down to my neck and against my collarbone.

“What did you want to discuss, my love?” Edward asked me. I took me a few seconds to get my brain to work right, but I finally got it unfazed.

“I. Well, I wanted to, um…ask you, if you, uh.” I couldn’t even speak a full sentence.

“What is it?” He asked, now facing up at me, chin resting on my chest.

“Actions speak louder than words.” I said, before getting up and he followed, both of us now kneeling on the bed. His eyebrows were pulled together and he was looking at me in the most confused expression.

I leaned in and kissed him, making sure to keep my brain focused. I slowly led my hands down to the buttons on his tuxedo jacket and unbuttoned them all. He didn’t even notice until I tried to shrug his arms out of the jacket. He suddenly froze, pulling away from me.

“Bella, are you insisting…what I think you’re insisting?” He asked, breathing hard and eyes bright.

“Edward. I really love you, and I want to have this human experience with you. Please?” I asked quietly.

“Bella, no. I can’t. I could hurt you; I could kill you! Don’t you know that?” He pleaded with me.

“No you can’t! I trust you! Look at how well we both have been doing on controlling ourselves! I just need…I just really want to love you.”

“But…but I…” He didn’t know how to argue with me. I’ve never heard him struggle for words before. It was actually kind of encouraging.

“Edward, you even said yourself that you aren’t really tempted by my blood that much any more. Please? Could we just try it? If it doesn’t work, then it’s all fine, but please?” I practically begged.

He didn’t respond, he just got off the bed and stood up, staring out the window to the street, where a soft rain fell. I got up and stood behind him, putting my hand on his shoulder and waiting until he made his decision. I couldn’t even read the unfathomable expression on his god-like face.

I don’t know how long we stood there, probably ten or fifteen minutes, until he turned around slowly and proceeded to walk behind me and stand there. I was about to turn around when I felt his hands in my hair, taking the pins out slowly and putting them on the counter next to the bed. He also kissed the back of my neck and I could feel his smile against my skin.

I grinned and let out a long sigh, closing my eyes. Oh yes, the sweet smell of victory.

I listened to her even, slow breathing, and the thumping of her heart, which had finally slowed down enough to let her sleep peacefully. I was leaning on my elbow and my chin was against her bare shoulder.

Yes, we made love. I grinned smugly in the dark to no one. Just thinking about it made my stomach flutter delightfully. Bella was truly an angel. Her body, her reactions, her…everything, was just so fulfilling. If there was one thing I would never forget, it would be these perfect past 24 hours.

Abruptly, I heard my cellphone vibrate in the pocket of my pants that were scattered somewhere on the floor. I quickly got up and started to search for it. Finally, I found it and ran to the bathroom so that I wouldn’t disturb Bella.

“Hello?” I asked quietly.

“Edward? Dude! How did it go?” Emmett’s booming voice came through.

I sighed loudly and pulled one of the white hotel robes on. “How did what go, Emmett?” I asked, even though I knew exactly what he was talking about.

“Oh come on, don’t act dumb, it doesn’t suit you. How was it?”

“Emmett, this is a personal matter and I won’t discuss it with you!”

“Edward!” he whined. I rolled my eyes and sighed again. I knew he was never going to quit, so I just went ahead and told him.

“Fine. It went good. Great, actually. I never thought I could do---”

“Edward, you’re on speaker, just so you know.” I heard Dan say in the background. My jaw fell and I felt my eyes widen. I heard Emmett and Jasper laughing, Alice and Rosalie giggling, and then Esme started talking which just made me want to crawl in a hole and never come out again.

“Edward, sweetheart, it’s ok. It’s nothing to be ashamed about---” She said soothingly, making me more embarrassed, and then Carlisle strong voice came on, and the noise behind me stopped.

“There, I turned it off speaker, Edward. I’m sorry they embarrassed you, they all just wanted to make sure nothing happened to Bella.” He said reassuringly.

“Right. And they’re not laughing their heads off right now, I’m sure.”

“Well, you know…don’t worry, I’ll make them stop before you two come home tomorrow.”

“Thanks, Carlisle.”

“You’re welcome. So…did everything go alright?”

“Yes, it went perfectly. I’m going to go now, ok?” I said; not risking time for any further embarrassment opportunities.

“That’s fine, I’m glad your night went well. Talk to you tomorrow.”

I hung up the phone, walked out of the bathroom and put it on the side table. I took off my robe and crawled back into bed, making sure that a couple of sheets separated Bella and me so she would not be too cold.

“Edward…I love you.” Bella mumbled in her sleep. I smiled almost involuntarily and brushed her hair away from her face.

“Love you too, Bells.” I whispered to her.

“Cheesy omelets. Don’t forget the tomatoes.” She muttered. I laughed quietly. She was such a mystery; I would probably spend the rest of forever trying to figure her out.

I woke up to a soft clap of thunder and the blinking light that was shining in from the window. It was still raining? I felt something ice cold kiss my shoulder. I turned around and saw Edward grinning at me, and I couldn’t help but grin back.

“Good morning, Mrs. Cullen…how was your sleep?”

“Good. How was your night?”

We just lay there, with only the sheets covering our bare bodies, grinning like a couple of idiots. I kept replaying last night’s events over and over in my head…such a nice group of memories.

“Edward…” I started, but then I stopped.

“Never mind, I’ll ask you later. It’s not that important. So, I’m going to go the bathroom really quick, ok?” I said, sitting up. He nodded and handed me my bag. While I was standing up, I took the sheet with me, and wrapped it around me like a mini-toga of some sort.

“Bella, I’ve already seen every glorious inch of you…why hide now?” He said, still lying down. I blushed and shrugged as I tiptoed to the bathroom.

“It’s going to take some getting used to, you know?” I asked, opening the door and looking back at him. He just grinned and put his arms behind his head, the picture of ease. I stood there for an extra couple of seconds, just staring at the top half of his body that wasn’t covered.

While I was brushing my teeth, I thought about how this was going to be the last time I would have to take a human minute. The last time I brushed…maybe even the last time I used the bathroom!

My life was ending today, and I seriously couldn’t bring myself to feel too much remorse. It was like I was finally starting my happily ever after…with death. Wow, that’s a fairy tale to tell the children.

I peaked my head out of the door and Edward was still in the exact same place, doing the exact same thing.

“Edward, can you help me with something?” I asked. He opened his eyes and got up, walking to me, and I looked down. I don’t think I would ever get tired of seeing him naked.

“Of course, what do you need?” He asked. I reached out and grabbed his hand, leading him to the glass shower door. This would be fun.

While I was checking out of the room, Bella was eating her breakfast at the coffee shop in the lobby. When I finally finished with the concierge, I headed over to the shop. I saw Bella eating a donut and sipping orange juice. I sat across from her and watched her eat.

“It takes a special person to sit in a coffee shop and not drink coffee.” I smirked. She shrugged and rolled her eyes. Suddenly, she stood up and walked to the counter.

“Bella, I was just kidding!” I got up and followed her, holding her wrist. Walking up to the register, she drummed her fingers on the counter.

“Yes ma’am?” The teen at the register said.

“I want a…tall, white chocolate mochaccino. Um, with extra whip cream please.” She asked the boy. He wrote it down and nodded.

“4.85, ma’am.” I pulled out my credit card and handed it to the boy while Bella went to the other counter, waiting for her drink.

“I thought you hated caffeine?” I asked her, putting my arm around her shoulders.

“I do, usually. But I thought that I might try it.” She said.

It took me a few seconds, but I realized what she was doing. She was going to do the things she couldn’t do after we turned her into a vampire…I felt so guilty, so selfish. Maybe I shouldn’t have agreed to this.

“Here you go. Careful, it’s hot.” The boy said. Bella reached over and took a sip of the drink and swallowed hard.

“Eh, it is hot!” She said, sticking out her tongue. I chuckled and shook my head.

“Do you like it?” I asked. She nodded and smiled, taking another sip.

While we were driving home, Edward put on rock music. I grinned and nodded my head to the music. I loved the band Lifehouse.

Soon enough, we were both singing along and although my voice was nothing compared to his velvety, soft voice, I thought we sounded pretty good together.

When we started to drive down the tree-covered roads that led to his--sorry, our house---I was really happy. I couldn’t wait to see everyone and start being apart of his family.

When Edward stopped the Vanquish in front of the garage, Alice suddenly appeared next to my door and opened it for me, grinning ear-to-ear.

“Hi Bella!” She said excitedly, hugging me and kissing me on the cheek. I hugged her back and whispered, “thank you so much” in her ear. I knew Edward probably heard it, but whatever.

“Bella!” Emmett suddenly yelled from next to me. He gave me a huge bear hug and if it had been a second longer, I would have suffocated.

“Emmett!” I yelled back, raising my hand for a high five. He high fived me back, but really softly, because he was probably afraid of breaking my hand or something.

“Hey Bella. How was your night?” Rosalie walked up to me and gave an exaggerated wink. I blushed and looked away, towards the trees.

“Good. You?” I asked nonchalantly.

“Great.” She said, tossing her hair and grinning.

“Bella! How are you sweetheart?” Esme asked, a couple feet away from me.

“I’m fine, Esme.” I said, hugging her. Carlisle and Jasper both stepped out of the house and nodded their heads for some reason. Suddenly, Edward had picked me up--bridal style, again---and was carrying me to the house.

“WELCOME HOME!” They all shouted as we walked into the threshold. There were a couple streamers hanging and a big sign that said “Home, Sweet, Home” that hung off the banner of the staircase.

“Oh wow! Thank you guys! This is awesome!” I exclaimed.

“It was no problem.” Dan said, coming out from behind the door. He gave me a little hug and handed me something. It was the cordless house phone.

“Call Ally at Jacob’s house when you get the chance. She’s dying to talk to you.” He said, rolling his eyes and smiling.

“Alright. So…what now?” I asked, turning around to look at everybody. Everyone started speaking at once and very fast, so I couldn’t even hear what they were saying.

“HEY! Quiet!” Edward yelled over them. “Let’s go one at a time. Me first.” He grinned, raising his hand.

“I say Bella and I go to the meadow.” He said, staring at me intently.

“NO, Bella and I are going shopping!” Alice yelled after that.

“Nuh-uh, Bella and I are going to get our nails done.” Rosalie said, rolling her eyes.

“I was thinking we should play some video games, or have a competition.” Emmett said, flexing his muscles.

“No, no, Bella needs to eat some lunch first. Let’s have a picnic!” Esme said.

“I’ll just do whatever you want me to do…” Jasper said, playing it cool.

“I say we ask Bella what she wants to do.” Dan said.

“I agree with that one.” Carlisle said, smiling.

“Uh…I don’t really know.” I said, turning red again since they were all paying attention to me and only me right now.

Suddenly, Jasper rushed over to Alice, and I saw that she was rigid straight, eyes open and blank, her fingers digging into Jasper‘s arm. She was having one of her visions. I looked at Edward who could probably see the vision also, and he was just staring at Alice.

Abruptly, she relaxed and was blinking repeatedly. Everyone was staring at her and I was afraid at what she might have seen. Was it the volturi? Did they finally remember me and were coming to see if I had changed or not?

“It’s alright, no big deal. I just saw what we were going to do.” Alice said, smiling. Everyone else visibly relaxed and Edward was grinning.

“Good one. Let’s go.” He said.

“Uh, dude, we don’t all have freaky mind reading abilities, you know. Where are we going?” Emmett asked.

“Six Flags!” Alice cheered. Everyone got really excited except Dan and me.

“What are six flags?” We both asked at the same time.

“You don’t know what Six Flags is? It’s only like the best amusement park ever!” Alice said, as if pointing out the obvious.

Hmm, that sounds like fun. We could pick up Ally too! I grinned and nodded, and so did Dan.

And so we were off to six flags.

“Bella, are you sure?” I asked for the millionth time. It was around twilight and Bella was sitting on my bed, smiling and getting ready for…well, to put it bluntly---her death.

“Edward, if you ask me one more time, I am going to get Carlisle to do it.” She said, awarning in her bright eyes. We both knew it was an empty threat but it still annoyed me.

“Here’s the morphine, Bella.” Carlisle said, walking in with a large injection. I saw Bella briskly turn her head away and make a face. She took off her sweater and stuck out her arm, waiting to be injected; probably enough to knock her out in a couple of minutes. I walked over and hugged her tightly.

“Ok, you’re only going to feel a little pinch.” Carlisle said before rubbing some alcohol onto her arm and putting the needle into her green vein. Bella closed her eyes and winced only a little.

“Done.” He said, pulling out the needle and throwing it in the trash.

“Wow, that didn’t actually hurt that bad.” She said, smiling. She looked at me with those big brown eyes and I felt my throat constrict. How could I possibly deny her anything in the world?

“I’ll be right outside, alright?” Carlisle said. I nodded and he patted me on the shoulder before stepping out.

“You can do this, I trust you. Take as much time as you need.” Bella whispered, putting her hand on my cheek. I nodded weakly and put her on the bed as gently as I could manage. My head fell onto her chest, and I listened to her heart beat for the last time.

I looked up and noticed her eyes drift close; the morphine was kicking in now. I crawled up slowly and kissed her forehead, her nose, and her lips. I buried my head into the crook of her neck and breathed in her scent a couple times before kissing her there.

Slowly, but surely, I opened my mouth and grazed her skin with teeth. I never thought I could do this to someone, to damn them to my own fate, and now I was doing it to my own love. I pushed out all thoughts in my head and reminded myself how much she wanted this.

I pierced my own teeth into the luscious veins running down her beautiful neck. Her blood burst into my mouth and I swallowed it eagerly, relishing in the aura of its taste. The monster inside of me came alive and charged for more. Blood? The seductive, sweet, and irresistible taste of human blood was finally in my mouth after years?

Oh, the smell, the taste. I wanted to drain every drop, leave nothing for anyone else. I heard a soft moan and the monster in me fell. I was in utter horror of my actions, my thoughts. I slipped my teeth out of her neck and spit the blood into a nearby bucket that Carlisle had set up on either sides of my bed.

How could I possibly think those things of my Bella, my sweet, loving Bella who trusts me with her heart? I wanted to cry, to tell her how sorry I was. But she was already starting to shift back and forth, blood dripping from the wound I had given her.

I grabbed one of the many towels sitting on my side table and wiped her clean. The blood kept gushing and I couldn’t stop it.

“Carlisle! Help!” I yelled frantically. He ran in along with Dan, both looking panicked. “She’s bleeding so much, how do I make it stop?” I asked.

“Edward, you can’t make it stop. Her blood is leaving her body, she doesn’t need it anymore. You can leave, we’ll take care of it.”

“No! The smell isn’t even bothering me. I’m more worried about her! Doesn’t the blood leave the body towards the end of the transformation? Why now?”

“It’s alright, it’s fine. She’s perfectly fine. All transformations are different, Edward. Calm down.” Carlisle said. He picked Bella up and put her in his lap, leaning her head up.

“Put the bucket under her neck.” He instructed. I did as he told and watched the blood drain from her, leaving her looking even paler, with a light blue tint, and so weak.

“Carlisle, how could I do this to her? I’m a monster! I killed my wife!” I yelled. Dan came over and took a hold of my shoulders roughly.

“Edward, you know she wanted this! She wanted to be with us all forever, and you just gave her that right. Calm down, relax, and we’ll just wait out the next three days, ok?” He demanded. I gave a weak nod and sat down next to Carlisle who was still holding Bella.

Then the screaming started. The veins that were now empty were going to be filled with venom…my venom. Her beautifully pitiful screams pierced the silence that was otherwise going through the house.

“HELP! EDWARD! HELP ME, I’M ON FIRE!” She screamed. I pulled her into my own lap and hugged her tightly, kissing her on her now-blue lips.

“Ssh, it’s ok, I’m right here! I love you, Bella. I’m so sorry!” I kept repeating over and over again, caressing her hair and her face. I saw Dan taking out the buckets full of blood, probably ready to throw them down the drain.

“Her heartbeats are slowing down, I guess she’s going to have her last sleep now.” Carlisle said, slowly over Bella’s screams. His mind said he was confused about this as well.

“Why? What is going on, Carlisle, all of that doesn’t happen until the third day! Is she going to have a really fast transformation?” I asked, more hopeful than I ever have been in my life.

“Maybe…I’m not sure. You’re right, and look, she’s falling asleep now.” He said.

I laid Bella back down on the pillows and watched her face that was tight with anguish. I remembered the horrible pain that was flooding through me in my transformation.

“Edward. Don’t be sorry, I’m happy with this.” She spoke to me clearly, turning around and still sleeping.

I was astounded. I knew Bella spoke in her sleep, but it was usually broken fragments, or it had nothing to do with what was really happening.

“Wow. That was interesting.” Carlisle said. Alice and Esme suddenly came in, carrying clothes and a hairbrush.

“Ew, her clothes are soaked in blood.” Alice said. She hopped over and was smiling as she helped Esme change her clothes. I looked in her thoughts and saw that she was excited about something, but it wouldn’t tell me what.

“What are you so excited about?” I asked.

“I just had a vision of how Bella was going to look after the transformation was over. It was really intense since the decision had finally been made. Oh Edward, she’s going to look so---”

“Yes, Alice. I’ll see it in real life when she wakes up.” I smiled. At least I knew everything was going to turn out all right.

“She’s not in pain anymore.” Jasper said, walking in my room. He had to leave the house because of the blood, and the horrible pain that was with Bella earlier. “Before it was horrible, but it went by really quickly. Is she going to have one of those really fast transformations?”

“Carlisle doesn’t know, but I think so.” I said.

“Edward, how’s she doing?” Emmett came in. For once, all comics had left his mind and the only thing he was thinking about was Bella.

“She’s doing really well, actually. The venom is done coursing her veins, and she’s already asleep.” I said proudly. Emmett walked over and gave Bella a huge hug and then grinned.

“In a couple of hours I’ll be able to wrestle her! Newborn strength is the best!” He said eagerly. I chuckled and kissed Bella on the forehead.

“Yes, I better watch out for the next year. She might get angry with me and actually hurt me for once.” I said. They all laughed and sat down on the floor. I searched the house with my mind for Rosalie, but she had left. I knew she hated me for changing Bella, and she didn’t understand how I could possibly do it.

“Too bad her clumsiness will be gone, I’m going to miss that.” Emmett said.

“Plus her blush.” I said.

“But at least she can wear high heels now.” Alice said happily.

“I’m more worried about her bloodlust.” Jasper said. We all stopped and started to think about it also.

I knew that in her mind, Bella would remain the same. She would have the same priorities and the same caring, loving attitude that she always had. But physically, the first year was the hardest to sustain. Dan had gotten lucky, but would Bella be just as lucky?

“I wonder what her power, or ability, will be.” Dan said, thinking along the same lines as me.

“I haven’t seen it yet, but I think she most definitely will have a big one.” Alice predicted.

“Great, another freak.” Emmett said. We all laughed and the bad thoughts were pushed out of my mind---for the meantime.

“Edward?” I heard a soft, musical, voice ask. Carlisle and Esme were in the room before I could even look down at Bella, where my breath caught in my throat. Her eyes were still closed and I grabbed her hands.

To the human eyes, you couldn’t really see much difference in her physically. But to the trained, vampire eyes, she looked like a new person. She was still Bella, but now she was just…intensified. Her beauty made my heart ache striking cords in my body that I didn’t know existed.

Her skin was now perfect, every spot, blemish, imperfection was now gone. Her hair had grown fuller, more sleek and ravishing. Instead of being soft, warm, and weak, she was now strong, cold, and her body was a little more muscled.

Her body had also taken a more full shape, and her nose, mouth, and cheekbones and become more defined. Perfection. Her hands were now holding on to me tightly, but not as tightly as she could.

“Edward?” She asked again. Her voice had had became more musical, sounding more beautiful than any I had ever head before. She slowly opened her eyes and looked directly into my own.

I gasped, and so did everyone else. They were pitch black, and usually a newborn’s eyes were a bloody red, due to their human blood that remained in their body for the next year.

“Bella?” I asked. Suddenly, she clapped her hands to her ears and had a sharp intake of breath.

The noise was so much. It was overwhelming, so loud. There were leaves swaying outside, animals making noises and then Edward’s voice came. I had to clamp my hands onto my ears to keep from screaming out loud.

I always noticed how beautifully musical, velvety, and soft his voice was. But now I could pick apart the one word he spoke and break it down into so many different things. Worry, anguish, pain, happiness, even a bit of lust deep down in his throat.

“Ssh, she has to get used to her new acute hearing.” Carlisle whispered very softly. I was grateful for that, and everyone was now deathly silent. I got up slowly and kept my gaze only in Edward’s eyes. Did he like me now that I was one of him? This thought had taunted me the entire time during the agonizing pain of my transformation.

“Bella?” He asked me again, now whispering so softly a human could never hear it.

“Hi Edward.” I whispered back, we both grinned at my anticlimactic greeting.

“It’s you! You remember me!” He whispered excitedly.

“How could I possibly forget you?” I asked. He smiled and leaned in to me. I closed my eyes and felt him brushing his lips against my own. All worries were forgotten, and I wanted to show him how strong I was, how he would never have to hold back anymore.

A throat was being cleared softly and I immediately turned my head to see the rest of the family staring at us happily. I jumped off the bed and landed in a thump on the floor. Edward zoomed down and picked me up.

“Yes! The clumsiness isn’t gone!” Emmett cheered/whispered. Everyone laughed and I was mortified. It wasn’t gone? NO! We all exchanged heartfelt hugs and words.

“Welcome to the family, Bella.” Esme whispered.

“Thank you all, for everything you have ever given me.” I whispered. Suddenly, my stomach felt like it caved in on itself and my throat had a rough itch.

“Ow!” I said in a normal voice. I guess my hearing was okay now because it didn’t really hurt.

“What’s wrong, Bella?” Edward asked worriedly.

“My stomach and throat hurt really badly.” I said, holding my stomach.

“You need to eat.” Carlisle said. He ran out and ran back in and this time, I didn’t even miss it. It wasn’t as fast as my eye could blink, I could see him running.

He brought a huge deer, freshly killed, and put it down on the floor. I was mesmerized by its smell, better than anything I’ve smelt ever before, but I couldn’t bring myself to eat it in front of everyone.

“Um, can I have some…privacy?” I asked. Everyone was like “oh, yeah. Of course” and they all stepped out of the room. I grabbed Edward’s hand and made him stay.

“Not you.” I grinned and sat down next to the deer. I just stared at it, not really knowing what to do.

“Just let your instincts take over.” Edward said, sitting next to me and putting his hand through my hair. I nodded and breathed in the scent of the deer’s blood. Suddenly a monster came alive in me and I latched onto its already broken neck and sunk my teeth into it. The blood tasted so good and warm going down my throat and I drained it in less than five seconds.

I got up and sighed blissfully. Edward was smiling and he reached over with a towel and wiped my mouth before kissing it. I got a bit eager and pushed him down, crawling on top of him and kissing him with all the strength I’ve wanted to since I met the guy.

“Bella…” Edward moaned into my mouth and I grinned against his lips.

“What’s this? The all-mighty Edward Cullen is being, dare I say it…dazzled?” I said mockingly, getting up and putting my hands on my hips.

“I’m not dazzled at all. I’m just…yes, more than dazzled, I’m completely head over heels.” He said, standing next to me and putting his hands on either side of the wall, trapping me in between. Quick as a flash, I grabbed him and trapped him against the wall.

“Whoa. What--?”

“Just giving you a taste of your own medicine.” I smiled, kissing him again.

“Hmm, thank you.” He said in between kisses. “You are my one love, Bella Cullen.”

“Forever.” We both said at the same time.
