The cottage, later that evening
"Let's go to the bedroom, love," I said, after tucking a sleepy Renesmee in her bed. Our plans had been sidetracked by Nessie when we returned from the shopping extravaganza; she was eager to see us after our unusually long absence and we had just returned to the cottage.
I was about to combust with anticipation. Taking Bella's hand, we rushed down the small arched hallway to our favorite place. I was about to abandon the surprise in my hurry, but I figured it would be worth the wait. I was correct.
"Close your eyes, I have a gift for you," I said. Bella frowned, the idea of another distraction obviously summoning a mutual feeling. I sped to the living room anyways, gathered the La Perla bags, and deposited one in the walk-in closet of our bedroom. "Alright, you can look now. It's in the closet; I thought you might want to put it on in private." I sat on the bed, suddenly nervous. Bella hated gifts; would she like this one? I was enough of a masochist to accept that this present was really more for me than it was for her, but I hoped she would oversee that.
There was a rustle of tissue paper, and Bella emerged from the closet a few seconds later. At that moment, all of the doubting ideas that I had been pondering only a moment before left my mind. Of course, all other structured thoughts abandoned ship as well, and I simply gasped, then stared.
Standing before me was a breathtaking angel, her wide golden gaze focused on me. Her pronounced curves were sheathed in fine black lace and silk, and she stood confidently. The fitted Italian design didn't leave much to the imagination, though I would gladly fill in those blanks shortly.
She wore a seductive smile, and I grinned back. The angel giggled, probably at the ridiculous look on my face. Twirling, she asked, "What do you think?" Her smooth, snowy backside was facing me now, mahogany hair flowing to her waist. "Unghh..," I shook my head, attempting to shake off the dizziness that had overcome me. "I think… I'm the luckiest vampire on the planet," I replied, coherently this time. God, she was sexy. Sexy doesn't even begin to cover it; my wife put the Victoria's Secret Angels to shame.
I would remember to thank Alice tomorrow, although I wasn't sure if I would be ready to leave this sanctuary so soon.
She turned in a split second again, darting over to the bed. Her breasts were at my eye level then, and it was a colossal tribute to her face that it brought my eyes up from her chest. "It's a wondrous concept, lingerie, isn't it?" she breathed. I slipped my trembling arms around her soft waist. "Only if there is someone as perfectly gorgeous as you to fill it," I countered.
Bella pushed me onto the bed, and I was on my back, her face only inches away from mine. She put one small hand on my cheek, stroking it gently. I closed my eyes, enjoying the sensation.
"Will you help me out of it, Mr. Cullen?" she was breathing quickly now.
My eyes snapped open. "Certainly, Mrs. Cullen."
The poor garments were ripped to shreds as my lips found hers. We collapsed on the bed in a tangle.
