The silence between us stretched on for a few minuets until I was able to comprehend what he was asking of me.

"You are...asking me to give up my child?" The words came out slowly. I couldn't look up at him, for I was on the brink of tears.

"Yes. Bella, it would be your first child, girl or boy. You would be sent away somewhere safe and hidden. I would assign someone to stay with you for the 9 months, and then bring the child back here. And you would be free to leave anytime." He spoke in a matter-of fact tone. Aro was fully expecting me to agree to these terms.

"The child, it would keep the name I would give it?"

"Anything you wish." He answered.

"Would I or Edward be able to see it?" Aro took a deep breath before answering. It was a dumb question, since I already knew what he would say.

"It would be best if you kept away from the child. He or she would be cared for by nurses, your sisters and myself. The child would be perfectly safe. But you being involved it the child's life would be complicated." A tear spilled over my cheek.

"Daughter, this is your freedom I am giving you, and these terms are not so bad. Please take them into consideration, your boyfriend and his family is waiting." He nodded toward the direction Edward had left in. I nodded slowly.

"All you ever told me was a lie, father. You let me suffer in a cage for 107 years, but in all those years I have never been as hurt as I am now. What you are asking me to do is a terrible thing..."My voice cracked at the end. I looked back down at the floor, my thoughts racing through my head. I had to come up with my decision. But how could I? This was mine and Edward's first child, and he wanted to take it away the moment he or she was born. I would never be able to hug its little body to me. I would never be able to serenade it to sleep. I quickly whipped the tears away and stared up at my father.

"I do not regret the decision I have made, and never will. I chose to..."
