"Whoa, didn't expect to see that!!" Emmett joked as he walked in threw the door. Following him was Rosalie and the rest of the family. Edward and I were off each other in a split second, sitting on opposite sides of the couch. They all just laughed, particularly at me and my flustered face.

"Having fun, kids??" Carlisle asked, smiling.

I just sat there staring down at the floor, while Edward chuckled at his comment.

"Maybe a little too much fun..." Rosalie commented.

I looked up at her, her face held the slight look of anger. I wondered curiously why she would be angry with me and Edward...

"Rose, shut up!" Alice pushed past her and sat down between me and Edward. And without a word she grabbed one on my hands and one of his and put them together above her lap.

"What a cute couple you guys would make!!" Alice giggled.

I just looked down and blushed again. This reaction made all of the Cullens to laugh. All but Edward. I could feel his eyes on me, but I was way too much of a chicken to look up at him. But seeing this, Alice then got up and shoved me over toward him. Her little push was a bit to powerful and instead of just sliding over a little, I totally flew into his chest. My face smacked right against his rock hard shoulder.

"Ow..." I whimpered and placed my hand on my cheek.

"Oh! I'm sorry!" Alice apologized immediately but just sat there.

Edward then gently grabbed my hand away from my cheek and examined it. A soft push on my cheek from his thumb and he looked over at Alice, who had a sheepish, apologetic smile on her face.

"Alice! You have to be more careful!" Edward scolded her.

"I'm ok! Really, I'm ok. You just need to work on your GENTIL touch, ok." I said in her defense.

"Oh, Bella I'm so sorry!" Alice apologized again.

"It's ok." I insisted as Edward examined my forehead now.

"You got a small bruise here." He said as he carefully pressed on a bump at the top of my head.

"Ow..." I whimpered again.

"So much for trying to help..." Alice sighed.

But before I was going to tell her I was ok, I looked around at the empty living room.

"Where'd they all go??" I asked, looking up at Edward's concerned face.

"Upstairs. They got bored..." Alice answered from behind me.

Edward then let go of my face and got up.

"I'm going to get a first aid kit. You have a cut forming on your cheek." He moved away swiftly, like he had to get out of the room now or he would die. When he closed the door to the other room I turned to Alice.

"What's wrong?" I asked, seeing her expression. She looked as though she had been holding her breath for a long time. She then nodded toward my cheek. My hand flew up to my now bleeding cheek.

"Oh! I'm sorry Alice." I said realizing she WAS holding her breath.

"Please, Bella. Don't apologize for bleeding. You can't control it, you silly!" Alice tried to laughed but she seemed to be struggling with that action.

"Alice. If you need to, leave the room. I'll be fine here." She then nodded and was gone at once. I sighed at the emptiness of the room. Sitting there on the couch, I began looking around at the room. It was very nicely furnished and had old looking paintings of ships. Even though it was bright and homey, I still felt so out of place here. As I started to stare off into space, something wet splashed down on m leg. It was blood, my blood. My hand then instantly rose to my cheek. It was bleeding more. Not wanting to have the blood stain on the couch or carpet, I got up and began to walk over toward where Edward had gone.

"Edward? Edward, I'm bleeding more and I need a towel or something... Edward?" I softly spoke as I opened the door he had gone through.

"There are paper towels on the counter." Edward's voice was urgent and hoarse.

"Edward, are you ok??" I said walking in the bathroom. The lights were off but I could still make out his figure over the sink. My hand rose to switch the lights on but his caught mine before I could. Now I could hear his breathing close to my face. Edward was panting down my neck. I started to feel unsafe.

"Edward. I-" He cut me off by placing his hand over my face. Now I was even more scared, and in an instant the door was closed and locked. I tried to turn toward the door but he held me fast to him by my waist.

"Edward?! Edward, you're scaring me." My voice shock with my body but still he didn't answer. I heard footsteps running upstairs and a faint voice saying things like "No!" and "Edward, don't!" But before I could react Edward had me pinned to a wall.

"You're taunting me my love." Edward whispered his breath hot against my throat. And just as the door was being knocked down, Edward bit down into my neck. A piercing scream arose from me and then he was off me. My eyes went black but I could still hear the hissing and growling and the sounds of things breaking. I continued to scream but much softer now. The sharp, burning pain ran through my veins. I could feel the darkness take over my body. Alice called out my name repeatedly and chanted over and over how it was going to be ok. But I could hear the horror in her shocked voice. I whimpered and grabbed at my throat. I was in was too much shock to feel the flames rising up and coursing over my body.

"Alice, call Aro at once!" Carlisle told her then pressed his cool hand against my head.

"Isabella? Isabella, can you hear me??" I managed to nod through the scorching pain.

"Hang on. Hang on..." His words disappeared along with my consciousness...
