A B.A. in BS

Summary:
Dear Edward, I have finally gotten over you No, that won’t work. Dear Edward, It’s been 3 years now. You never returned. At least you could keep ½ of your promise; I never saw you again, but the whole thing about life being as if you never existed is a large heaping load of horse sh— GAH! How do you tell your high school sweetheart, the man you stole your heart never to return it, the man who obsessed over keeping you safe, the man who left you broken in a forest because he did not love you anymore…how do you tell him that that you are finally over him and moving on, kinda-sorta. How do you tell him if he’s moved away with his family and you have no way to contact him? You write his sister’s husband, that’s how! What happens if Edward really never returned and Bella went on with her life? What happens if she was able to get over Edward, leave Forks, go to college, and make a life of her own? Would his heart break if he knew she was over him and could surive without him? Would she ever see him again? What about is family-could she really live with out her best friend, forever? What about the wolves? Jake? And oh, dear....what about Victoria?? This story takes place after Edward left. Bella was too much "into" herself (her depression was too strong) that she never did any of the extreme sports, never jumped off the cliff therefore leaving on reason for Alice to come back or for them to go to Volterra. This should be interesting. (BTW the title essentially means ABachelor of Arts inBull Sh--) FAIR WARNING: THERE IS SOME OOC ACTIVITY (Out Of Character) Also, there's some senuality coming up so be prepared :-) I have this "book" finished and the second "book" started and hopefully finished by the end of my holiday vacation. Bella POV

I tried for days to figure out what decision, and whose it was, made Alice see that my father finally forgave Edward. The thought wasn’t forgotten, but it was pushed to the back of my mind during the trip to Paris. Alice packed for me, again, and we left late Thursday night so I could sleep on the flight out. Each woman was driven to the airport by their mate for a little quality time before we were gone for the weekend; Jasper and Alice in her Porsche, Emmett and Rose in his Jeep, and Edward in my Audi. Edward was not my mate, but we all thought it was inevitable.

I made a decision once we got to the airport. Edward and I had to talk about our views on what and how it would happen if I decided that I wanted to be changed. That topic of discussion was a hot one for us, but I totally believed that we could find some sort of compromise and we would do it in a very adult, mature manner.

Two days after Charlie and I had it out, he called back to talk to Edward. They had a two hour conversation about what he did in the past and what he intended to do in the future. I was present for most of it and Edward was nothing but calm for its duration, but I couldn’t take just sitting there and listening so I ended up downstairs playing Super Mario Brothers 3 with Emmett. Edward came down with the phone and handed it to me. I handed him the controller and took the phone from him.

Dad told me he still didn’t trust Edward, but he was still going to give him a chance. He felt better about my relationship with Edward now that he had spoken to him, although he still wasn’t happy with it. He was still going to call and speak with Edward as he needed to, but thought that he was more mature than he used to be. He even said he could hear the remorse in Edward’s voice and that he knew Edward had seen the error of his ways. I thanked him for giving us a chance and told him to have faith.

I told him that the girls and I were going to Paris this weekend and although he wasn’t thrilled, he told me to have fun. Before I got out of the car at the airport, I called Charlie and left him a message that we were at the airport and about to check-in and that I would call him later.

As Edward walked around to open my door for me, I caught a glimpse of Alice getting out of her car, which was parked in front of mine, as she went blank for just a fraction of a second then grinned widely and winked at me. She and I really needed to sit down and have a talk about these visions of hers.

Paris was just like New York, except more expensive and much more beautiful. Between shopping, sleeping, eating, and even a little sightseeing, I barely had five minutes to spare to call Edward. It was ok because I knew that I would be home to him shortly. This time away from him, time by choice and under great circumstances, made me miss him a truly unique way. One I had yet to feel. I hated being away from him, but relished in the fact that I knew he would be there when I got back.

I was excited to get home-more like excited to get into my own bed and out of wearing heels on the streets of Paris. They were cute, but there are certain things I would not do for fashion. I would have worn Emmett’s bear slippers, with batteries installed, in public by the end of the weekend. We left very early Sunday morning on a chartered jet. I thought it was absolutely unnecessary, but Alice said it had to be done to maximize our time in Paris and get me home in time to relax a little and get ready for classes on Monday.

We landed on the tarmac and there was a red, yellow, and ice blue car waiting for us near the hanger. There is a scene in the movie Independence Day at the end where Vivca A. Fox runs into Will Smith’s arms and wraps her legs around his waist. Yea, I did that with Edward. He giggled, I giggled-it was sweet. Each of us tuned out the laughter around us. He kissed me passionately by sucking on my bottom lip and letting our tongues intertwine for a moment then set me down on the ground.

I turned around, embarrassed, to greet Emmett and Jasper. They were standing in front of me literally covered in bags. I hadn’t realized how much stuff we, I mean she, bought. She kept telling the clerks at the store to have the bags sent to the airport hanger by courier.

“Hold that pose,” I said as I fidgeted through my purse, “I need to find my camera.”

“Just take the bags,” Emmett groaned, “our cars are already full.”

“What?”

“Yep,” Jasper sighed, “you all must have cleaned Paris clear out.”

“That’s your wife for ya,” I said popping the trunk.

Emmett loaded “his” bags into the back seat and Jasper’s went into the trunk. They started to return to their wives and I told them to hold on a moment. I opened the back passenger side door and emptied one bag into another and took the emptied bag out of car.

“Emmett, you trust me right?”

“Course.”

“Then I need you to bend over a little bit.”

“Um, why?”

“Just trust me and do it.”

He bent over just the perfect amount. I put the bag over his head and patted him on it saying, “Thanks all done.”

“What’s this for,” he said muffled through the bag.

“Sometimes family members just look better with a bag over their head,” on that last word I took off in a sprint away from him. Of course he caught up to me. He picked me up, threw me over his shoulder so my face was imbedded into his back and he pulled off my socks and shoes. He threw them away and I thought I heard someone catch them.

“You asked for it baby sister,” he said as I now bounced up and down as his shoulders moved in laughter.

In a reflexive action I tried to kick my feet to get him to put me down, but it didn’t work. He used a gentle touch and started to tickle my feet. I bit down on my tongue to hold back the laughter, but I wasn’t able to. His fingers were moving so quickly at the bottom of my feet and I was laughing so hard I thought I was going to pee myself. He stopped and lifted me off his shoulders and cradled me in his arms. I wiped the happy tears from my eyes.

“Hey, Edward-CATCH!” Suddenly I was evicted from his arms, airborne, and in Edward’s arms.

“Hi honey,” he said as he laughed and looked down at me then gave me a quick peck on the lips, “miss me?”

I ignored Edward and looked for Emmett who now stood next to a disgruntled, yet humored Rosalie. “Emmett, no playing hot potato with the human-I mean me! And you,” I said looking sternly at Edward and re-thinking my playful need to punch him in the arm, “were in on it. I know you knew what he was thinking.”

“Love, I knew he meant you no harm. He was playing with you like he would have his little sister.”

“I get it, but seriously.”

“You want another round? I think Emmett would be happy to do it again,” he laughingly joked.

“Bring it on, baby sis. I can take you any day of the week.”

“One of these days Emmett, you are going to regret you said that to me.”

“I don’t think so.”

“Think what you will,” Alice chimed next to him in Jasper’s arms, “but she’s right.”

“And I can’t wait until that day comes. I know it will make things interesting around the house,” added Jasper.

I looked up at Edward and rolled my eyes. “Can we just go home now?”

“Of course, love. Anything you want.” He put me in the passenger side and closed my door.

The rest of the family got into their cars and we drove home. I wanted to go home not because I was tired, or hungry, although the growl my stomach on the drive home made me realize just how hungry I was. It was because Alice and I needed to have a little sisterly heart-to-heart about those visions of hers.

*****

As soon as I had eaten my fill of the lasagna Esme cooked, the rest of the family headed out to hunt. Alice said she would stay back to keep me company. This was my moment to pounce. I opened my mouth to say something to her as she sat across from me at the new kitchen table.

“Ah,” she said as she put a finger up to silence me, “you don’t need to say a word. I saw this on our way home. I’ll explain everything, ok? Well, almost everything because I need to leave some of it to chance and just let it happen on its own. You won’t get it out of me so don’t try, but I’ll tell you what I can.”

I sat there in silence; mouth now closed, and raised my eyebrows in challenge to her words.

“Here’s what I’ve seen. I can’t tell you exactly what you did to make you decide all this, but I like it!”

“Alice.”

“Ok, Ok. I’ve had three visions so far that have really enlightened me. The first and the second are somewhat connected. The day you and Edward went fishing, I had a vision of you and Edward progressing in your relationship. I saw all of us very, very happy. The second one was of Charlie forgiving Edward because he made you so happy and because you guys had progressed to a certain point in your relationship. You two had gotten to a point in your relationship that required Edward to show amazing level of respect to him that Charlie forgave him.”

“OK, and the third?”

“Well, the third it the crème-de-la-crème of visions, even if it was just a little flash, I had it at the airport-when I winked at you. You were one of us.”

“By one of you, you mean…”

“A vampire of course. Glittery, rock hard, fast-you know: all the fun stuff.”

“When you had that vision, I had decided to have a talk with Edward about the future. I wanted to approach the topic of me being changed again. Carefully, but it needs to be discussed. It was a hot button issue back in Forks. I know he’ll still be against it, but we have to talk about it in an adult, mature manner.”

“Absolutely. I think are going about it the right way. He’ll have an open mind about it this time. And, well, I just told you what I saw so we know eventually he’ll be ok with it,” Alice said giddy with excitement.”

“Don’t go celebrating yet, Alice. We haven’t even talked yet.”

“In my mind we have!”

“In your mind a lot of things happen. Wait a minute, the only way I would want to be changed is if he did it. Does this mean he does it?”

“Be nice Bella. I hold the key to your future, still and that’s just something you’ll have to find out when it happens.”

“What are you talking about? What do you mean ‘still’?”

“I told you I couldn’t tell you everything. You’ll find out soon enough, just be patient.”

“You realize that’s totally not fair.”

“All the benefits of being a psychic, Bella. You just have to trust me. It will be so worth it. Just give it time and you’ll understand,” Alice professed while she disappeared from the table then reappeared with a pint of Cherry Garcia and a spoon. She set both down in front of me. “I called Esme on the way back and told her to get you some ice cream. A girl should always have ice cream when she’s up all night contemplating her future.”

“What happened to getting home early so I’d have enough time to get a good night’s rest and be ready for classes tomorrow?”

“Sometimes, there are more important things you have to think about. You don’t have class until eleven, you have plenty of time to think and sleep,” she finished by pecking me on the cheek and then left to join the rest of the family to hunt.

I went up to my room after two bites of ice cream and took a long hot bath and then got dressed for bed. I didn’t hear my family return, but did hear Emmett and Jasper going at it while playing a video game half an hour after I got out of the tub. I spent the next few hours in the middle of my bed, my legs kicked up and my head propped up on my hands.

I wasn’t really thinking about anything or deciding anything. I just thought about the past and what choices were made then and then the future and what choices had to be made for it. What decisions had to be made to keep me and my family happy and safe. What it would take and how I could go about making it happen.

I yawned often, but my thoughts kept me awake. I crossed my arms on the bed and laid my head on my elbow, still thinking. A few seconds later, I heard him humming my lullaby from under the door and my eyes felt very heavy and seconds later were closed.
