I smirked at Angela as I could see how nervous she was and I wondered why. What did Alice say to her? I shook my head as we walked past the black motorcycle in Ben's driveway where we then walked along the path to the front door of Ben's house. I stopped walking as Edward walked to the front door.

"Ang, you all right?"

Angela looked at me, nodding her head quickly. "Yeah, it's just he's really hot. He came out a few minutes ago to get the paper. He's SO out of my league, Bella."

I smirked when I suddenly heard Ben's voice in my ears.

"Dude, who is that?"

I had to laugh at Benjamin's comment. He had been staring at my best friend for like ten minutes. We had even walked inside of Ben's house since he offered to let us come inside. Yet, he couldn't take his eyes off of Angela, who was smiling like a girl who just found the last piece of candy. I had never seen Angela so appreciative over this. Oh man, Lauren and Jessica would be royally pissed off at this.

"Angela, he likes you," I whispered into her ear, causing her to look away from Ben's beautiful eyes to me with a wicked smile on her face. "And I think you're enjoying it."

"How could I not?" she asked in a soft voice as she looked over to me. "He's beautiful."

I laughed at Angela's words as she turned her attention back to Ben, who stared right back at her. I had never ever seen Angela so smitten with any guy before. I couldn't help but wonder if he was a good guy. I really did not want Angela to get her heart broken. Was that so wrong of me to want that for her?

"Here you go, Bella."

I turned my head to look at Edward, who moved to sit next to me after setting a plate of food in front of me, and I watched him set his own down in front of him when Angela moved to Ben at the stove. The guys had offered to make us breakfast and my food looked simply scrumptious. We both had a plate filled with three pancakes, sausage links, bacon strips, scrambled eggs, a side of fruit, and two pieces of toast.

"Wow, this is like heaven, but I can't eat all of this," I admitted as I watched him pour some syrup onto my pancakes and on top of my eggs.

I blinked at him and he looked at me with a smirk.

"I like syrup on my eggs too. My parents and sisters think it's nasty," he said with a laugh as I watched him pour the syrup on his own pancakes and eggs. "And Alice has the nerve to call me strange."

"If anyone's strange, it's Alice," I said as I began to cut into my pancakes.

Esme had always commented on how wonderful of a cook Edward was and this would be the first time that I had tasted his food. My dad would really love the sight of seeing a man cook for me because I know that he really hated that I was always cooking and cleaning after Emmett, Jasper, and him. Although, I was pretty used to it, so it really didn't bother me.

I watched Benjamin lead Angela into the dining room, while holding their plates, and I took a bite of the pancakes, moaning at the delicious taste in my mouth.

"Is it good?" Edward chuckled as he looked over at me, while he took a bite of his food.

"Well… duh. Of course it's good," I told him as I took another bite of the pancakes, my eyes dancing to the taste of this breakfast that he had cooked for me. "Where did you learn to cook?"

"During college – my roommates were never home. I lived off campus since I didn't like the small spaces there. Since my roommates were never home, I had a lot free time to myself. I used to watch these cooking channels and I found them to be interesting," Edward said with a chuckle, taking a bite of one of his sausage links, and he shook his head. "I basically became the cook when my roommate, Riley, came home with his girlfriend when they smelled me baking a red velvet cake."

"Oh, that's my favorite," I gushed with a grin as I took a bite of my eggs. "You're going to have to be my personal cook, Edward."

When she basically stated that she wanted me to be her personal chef, I surely didn't mind that at all, especially with us being out here for a week. I would cook Bella Swan anything she wanted, especially if my family stayed far away. If anything, I would just come to Ben's since his house was always open to me. I hadn't had this much fun with anyone in a long time, especially a girl.

"I wouldn't mind that at all," I told her with a wink as I looked over at her and I ran a hand through my hair after I took another bite of my breakfast.

"I think Angela and Ben will be spending their entire vacation together," she said with a laugh.

"Well, she is in very good hands. Benjamin will take care of her. I can promise you that," I told her as I grabbed her hand when she set it against the flat surface of the counter. "I won't let anything bad happen to her and neither will Ben. I have not seen him this worked up over a girl since our first year of college."

"I believe you. Ben was so kind to me, saving me whenever Alice drove me insane," she told me with a laugh leaving her lips as she looked over at me. "I am really glad that you are here with me. If it was just me, I would certainly feel like a third or fifth wheel."

I smiled at her and I simply nodded my head, looking over at her as I took a sip of my orange juice, looking to the dining room where Ben wrapped his arm over the back of Angela's chair. I shook my head to how much Ben liked Bella's best friend. I could only imagine what kind of drama would happen if Jessica and Lauren were here.

"Well, you do not need to worry about that," I told Bella as I gave her hand when a little squeeze after she finished eating her portion of her food. "I take it that it was tasty?"

"Oh yes!" Bella exclaimed with her cheeks all rosy and pink from embarrassment. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be so loud, Edward."

I chuckled as I shook my head and I looked at her, sliding my fingers through her own. "Don't be ashamed, Bella. I am very pleased that you enjoyed the food."

"How could I not?" she asked as she looked over at me with a smile. "So, what did you want to do for the rest of the day, Edward? I don't feel like being around those two love birds."

I know that Alice wanted her brother and my sister to be happy. I honestly could not blame her, but I didn't think that it would work. I had no idea that Bella had a thing for the guy that was seven years older than her. Then again, Bella had always been attracted to older guys because from what she had told me, she felt like guys her age or a year or two younger were just too immature.

I had thought that she had been crazy until that bastard cheated on her. Emmett and I were going to beat him up until Bella, Rosalie, and Alice had stopped us. I was glad because in the back of my mind, Jacob Black really was a waste of our time.

I rolled over on my side to look at Alice, who was cuddled next to me. "Yes, my love?"

"What are you doing up? Are Bella and Edward home yet… or are they still at Ben's?" Alice asked, the tiredness in her voice, and a yawn left her lips.

"They're still at Ben's. Go back to sleep," I said in a soft voice as I laid down next to her, placing a soft kiss on the bridge of her nose, and I cuddled close to her, not being able to wipe the smile from her face.

I liked Edward Cullen, a lot, and there was no doubt in my mind that he liked me back as well, especially from the conversation I had with Alice that day after we had left Angela with Ben. There was no doubt in my mind that we were going to get a lot closer than anyone of us could even think.

So, here Edward and I were, walking along the beach. It was still early out and there wasn't a single person out here, which made me smile. It was the summertime in California, so that definitely shocked me. As I held his hand, I could feel the butterflies fluttering around inside of my stomach.

When he turned to look me with those green eyes of his right into my brown ones, my heart pounded against my chest due to the nerves that were stirring inside of me. I could definitely not hide the smile from my face. I had never felt this way for any man before and it was scary that I felt this certain way towards Edward Cullen. Then again, I had these feelings for him ever since I was a teenager – fifteen years old to be exact.

"Yes, Bella, how may I help you?"

"If you want to hang with someone, I'll understand. I mean, I'm just eighteen, and –"

"Legal," Edward said with a laugh, wiggling his eyebrows at me, making me blush. "And you look so good when you blush, Bella. To be honest, I really do enjoy being here with you. You are the only person I would want to be here with."

If my cheeks weren't flaming red, they were now, and I smiled just the slightest as I looked up into his eyes when we stopped walking. I felt him pull me close where my body was almost on his.

"You are not just saying that to be nice, are you?" I asked as I crossed my arms over my chest right under my breasts when I looked at him. "I mean, I'll understand."

"He really did a number on you, didn't he, Bella?"

"What do you mean?"

"Jacob, Bella," he sighed as he looked over to my face with a shake of his head.

I knew that I shouldn't bring it up, but I had to know. If it was true that Bella liked me, we had to talk about Jacob, but I also didn't want to hurt her. Even though Jacob was the one that lost her when he cheated on her, I would only show her the best care in the world. Me – well, I wanted the chance to be with Bella. It was why I was doing this.

"Edward – "

"Bella, I know for a fact that you haven't talked about what he did to you," I began as I grasped both of her hands into mine and I lifted my gaze to look at her face. "Alice is my sister, but it's probably hard to talk her. Why not talk to someone that knows what you are going through?"

"What are you saying?"

"I… Well, you are not the only one, Bella. My last girlfriend cheated on me and… well, it wasn't with a guy."
