"I mean, he wanted us to have sex since his friend, Embry, was always with a different girl," she sighed as she pulled her knees to her chest, looking up into the sky. "When I said no, I walked out for a little walk. Not even an hour later, I saw him with her. He even tried to say she mounted him. Ha, fuck him."

I placed my hand on her knee, giving it a squeeze, and she looked at me.

"I'm sorry."

"Don't be sorry. From what everyone's told me, you haven't let yourself feel what he did to you, Bella, and I think it's about time. Don't you agree?"

As she nodded her head, she slid her hand over mine that was over her knee. It felt so right, and yet, so good all at the same time.

"So, it's still a little early, and I know you've got to be tired. How about we sleep for a few hours and I take you to a few places tonight? I'm going to make you have a stress free vacation."

Bella's eyes lit up as she looked at me. "No Alice?" she teased.

"Ha, right. We both know she's going to drag you shopping," I said with a laugh as I helped her up to her feet where we headed back to the beach house.

I never ever imagined that a vacation with the Cullen family would ever be this much fun, but it sure as hell was. Well, it wasn't fun, but I wasn't spending all my time with just Alice and those shopping trips that I hated with a passion. She actually liked seeing me with her brother, Edward, and well, I couldn't complain due to the fact that I liked spending time with him.

Edward was very different than any of the boys that I had met. Then again, he wasn't a boy. No. He was a man – the same man I had met as a teenager. I knew that this vacation was going to get better and better if I got to spend more time with him. I knew I invited Angela along, but it seemed to me that she had her whole vacation down here with Benjamin.

I wasn't Angela. I couldn't spend the entire vacation down here in San Diego with Edward, but that sounded really good to me. Yeah, I liked it a lot, but the family had also invited me down here. I knew that Esme and Carlisle wouldn't care as long as I had fun. Besides, I think I saw them smiling when they saw Edward and me come back yesterday morning after our walk on the beach.

I was just so much younger than him. Well, seven years wasn't nothing, but it still bothered me that he wouldn't take me seriously. Sure… we had both got cheated on, but I just didn't think he would ever want me like the way he had wanted his girlfriend that had fucked him over.

"Bella, are you all right?"

I turned my head to see Alice and I nodded my head. When she nodded her head, I frowned. I hated that she knew me so well that she could tell when I was lying through my teeth.

"Don't lie to me. There's no one here since they all went to go get food for tonight," she said with a grin as she moved to my closet, shaking her head. "We should buy you some clothes to wow Edward with."

"You're so strange, Alice. Why would you even do that?" I said with a laugh, shaking my head as I sat down in the middle of the mattress.

"Because Bella," Alice began with a grin on her face. "I think that my brother is one of the good guys."

"I still find it weird that you aren't mad at me for liking your brother," I began as I looked at her with a raised eyebrow when she pulled out a dress. "I mean, most girls would snap at their friend for liking their brother, Alice."

"That is true, but we both know that I am not like most girls. I really do think that Edward would be so good for you," Alice explained with a grin, placing the dress back on the rack, and she turned to me. "Since you spent the entire day with Edward yesterday, I did some shopping…"

"Oh no, please tell me you didn't buy me anything?"

Alice laughed like she was offended. "Oh please… you know very well when I go shopping, I always buy you something, Bella. Want to see what I bought?"

"Um, no, that's okay."

Alice left the room with a pout and I was relieved, but she came back with two big bags and I frowned. Of course I had no choice when it came to clothes. I didn't know what she wanted, but I knew that she was going to make me look older than I already did. With Edward, I didn't have to worry about doing too much.

"So, I'll ask again. Want to see what I bought you?"

Hours had passed since I had left the beach house where Alice told me she wanted to spend time with Bella. Was it bad that I was jealous that Alice got to spend time with Bella? Yeah, it was, and it only got worse when I had to go shopping with my two brothers for the meats to put on the grills. It had been horrible since they both started ganging up on me.

Jasper, Emmett and I had departed from our parents to get the right burgers, steaks, pork chops, and hot dogs since last time they went shopping, they didn't get the high quality stuff. It wasn't like we couldn't afford it with our father being a doctor and our mother being an interior designer.

"Aw, will you look at how sad you look?"

"Jasper, shut him up before I beat him with the pork chop!"

Jasper chuckled. "Sorry, man… no can do. You should really see how depressed you look right now."

"I don't look –"

Emmett snickered. "Yeah, you did, man. Does Bella already have you that whipped or something?"

The next thing anyone heard was Emmett crying out because I hit him on the side of his head with the pack of pork chops in my hand. Yeah, he had it coming.

I was standing at the grill, while everyone else was drinking a glass of wine or had wandered to the edge of the water. I hadn't seen Bella or Alice yet and I couldn't help but wonder where she was. I hadn't seen her and I was going crazy. I sounded crazy because the two of us weren't even dating. It surprised me that I could be this attracted to a girl, but I was.

"Hey, Edward."

I heard her voice behind me and I grinned like a silly fool. "Wow, you look amazing…"

Bella blushed and I swore… she was the most adorable thing I had ever seen when she blushed. The sight of her flushed cheeks all pink and rosy, it made her even more attractive if that was even possible. She was definitely a sight to see and I knew it was because of Alice. I had to give my sister props for her good fashion style.

A dress – yes, she was wearing a dress, and it looked heavenly wonderful on her.

A sequined, deep purple dress that tied around her neck, showing off the right amount of cleavage, and it flowed out just right above her knees. Adjourned by her shoulders was a white shawl that would keep her warm. As I looked down at her feet, I smiled at the fact that she wasn't wearing any sandals or flip flops. I noticed that her toes were painted in the purple that matched her dress. Her face was perfect, having just lip gloss and a dash of eye liner and mascara. Goodness… Alice made her look like a knockout, totally making me forget that she was just eighteen years old.

"Uh, thanks," Bella said to me with flushed cheeks. "I'm sorry I was not out here sooner, but well… you know how Alice can be."

"No, no, it's all right," I said after I flipped the meat that was still in the grill, grinning over at her with a bright smile on my face. "If you take this long to get ready, I surely wouldn't mind. You look amazing, Bella. I really do mean it."

When I saw her cheeks flush a light pink, I couldn't hide the smile from my face, and I looked back to the grill. The last thing I needed to do was to make her nervous from me looking over at her.

"You look pretty great too."

I chuckled. "Oh, yeah… board shorts and a tee is pretty great."

"Edward!" she laughed as she moved next to me, her hip brushing against me. "Is this the last of the meats that need to be cooked?"

I nodded my head as I looked down at her. How was it that one girl could make me feel like Jell-O when girls from college hadn't even been able to do that? Yeah, Bella Swan was pretty much a special kind of girl in my head.

"Alice, why are you smiling like that?"

I grinned at my father's words when I looked away from Edward and Bella, who were deep in conversation, to look at my parents. "I am not up to anything, Father. I don't even know what you are talking about."

Jasper grabbed my hand, shaking his head. "Alice, you're always up to something. You're not able to hide anything from us. You should know that."

I rolled my eyes as I stared at him. "Excuse me?"

Jasper sighed as a frown came over his face. "Uh, nothing."

"That's what I thought," I said with a smile as I looked back to Edward and Bella after my parents walked away from us. "I just think that they would be perfect together. Edward got fucked over by Tanya for a girl, which is wrong on so many levels, and Jacob fucked Leah Clearwater when he was with Bella, so yeah…"

Jasper chuckled, wrapping his arms around my waist, and he kissed the top of my head. "I just have one say in this, Alice, and I'm serious. When Bella says stop, you stop."

I frowned, but I simply nodded my head. I knew better than to argue with my Jasper. The last time I didn't let Bella win, she didn't talk to me for weeks, and I didn't want that again.

"Okay, Jasper… when and if she tells me to stop, I will."

I had to admit that Alice knew style. When I approached Edward, he could not take his eyes off of me, and it was something that I hadn't expected. I was eighteen years old, so I knew I wasn't a child, but the way that Edward looked at me, it made me feel beautiful. Not even when I was dating Jacob did he look at me like that, so it was nice.

We were sitting away from his family at a different table, eating our dinner that Edward had cooked, and I couldn't stop smiling from the little looks he was giving to me.

"You know… I was pretty shocked that your father didn't question me about my intentions with you when he realized I was the one taking you down here to San Diego, especially with him being a cop," Edward said with a chuckle, taking a bite of his potato salad, and he looked to my eyes. "I thought he wasn't going to let you go before we even went into the police station."

"Well, I was pretty messed up a couple months back when Jacob broke my heart, and I am pretty sure he didn't want to deal with that. Besides, I am eighteen years old."

"You may be eighteen, but you're still living at home with him. Most fathers would have asked a whole bunch of questions like what the guys intentions were and everything," Edward said with a grin as he shook his head. "But my actions are really harmless."

"Oh, really, is that so?" I asked as I took a bite of the burger.

"Mm-hmm," he said with a mouthful of food, clearing his throat after he took a sip of his drink that was beside his plate. "I mean, I won't lie, Bella, but I am extremely attracted to you."

I blushed shyly as I looked over at him before I looked back to my food. "Thank you."

"You really aren't used to men complimenting you, are you?"

I shook my head no as I lifted my head to look at him. "No, I'm really not used to. Only my family and your family, especially Alice have been complimenting me for quite some time."

"That's a shame. I think girls, especially you, should be complimented more often. I like to think that a compliment gives the right boost of confidence and you need that, Bella. I might just start calling you Isabella too."

I frowned. "Why? I don't really like that name."

"Why don't you like the name, Bella? You're so beautiful and your name Isabella is just as beautiful as you."

Oh damn, I never thought that I could like my first name from anyone's lips, but the way he said it, it made my cheeks get all pink and rosy from embarrassment. It was strange that Edward could make me like my first name, but was it so wrong that I only wanted him to call me that and no one else?

"I guess you can call me Isabella," I said as I stared into his green eyes, feeling my blood rush in my body, and I bit down on my lower lip.

"Good!" he said with a cheery smile on his handsome face. "So, Isabella, does that mean if I asked you out on a date, you would let me?"

I was in shock and my eyes widened in surprise. "Uh, what?"

Edward chuckled. "Tomorrow… can I take you out on a date?"
