I watched her frown and I sighed. "But why do you like me?"

"Because you're beautiful and you deserve someone to take care of you."

I watched her frown disappear, a smile replacing it. "I've never had anyone want to take care of me before, Jacob."

"What about Edward?"

"That was high school," she shrugged, standing up.

I frowned after I threw our containers away in the trash, wrapping my arm around her shoulders to lead her out of Cold Stone. "I didn't bring up a touchy subject, did I?"

"No, it's fine," she said as she looked at me, sliding her body close to mine. "It's just hard. I mean, he was the love of my life."

I gritted my teeth sharply and before I knew it, I was spitting out words I never wanted her to hear from my very own lips. "Bella, Edward cheated on you with Tanya Denali in high school, and he knocked her up. It's why he didn't go to college with you."

I had been ignoring everyone that truly mattered to me after I got the news from Jacob about Edward's infidelity. I couldn't believe that this had happened to me. My whole relationship with Edward had been a sham, and I would never be able to forgive him for what he did to me. Sure, we had broken up for like a week when he slept with Tanya Denali – the one girl I couldn't stand.

Jacob's words kept on ringing in my head over and over. I couldn't stop thinking about the flashback in my head though. Jacob had been the one to tell me about what Edward had done.

"Bella, Edward cheated on you with Tanya Denali in high school, and he knocked her up. It's why he didn't go to college with you."

My eyes widened as I stared back, moving away from him and I bit down on my lip. "Excuse me?"

Jacob sighed. "You heard me, Bells. I didn't want to tell you, but –"

"Yet… you did. What the hell are you talking about?" I asked, sliding my hands down to my hips and I glared at him with a shake of my head. "And don't lie to me, Jacob. Please… don't lie to me."

"Bella," Jacob sighed as he ran a hand through his hair, staring back. "I shouldn't have said anything. I shouldn't be the one to tell you this."

I bit my lip harder, blinking back the tears rolling down my face. "Please. I want to know, Jacob. No, I need to know what you are talking about."

"Fine," Jacob sighed as he looked at me. "Do you remember when Edward left your birthday party?"

I cringed. "Yeah, but how did you –"

"I saw how sad you looked, Bella. I never wanted you to be like that and I followed Edward. I know it sounds creepy but it was just something I felt that you deserved," Jacob began as he led us to a bench, helping me sit down before he sat down next to me. "He went to Tanya's. Apparently, she had been texting him all night, telling him that she was pregnant. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have told you but –"

"No," I began as I looked up at him. "I am glad that you did but I don't know if I believe you. Edward – well, he wasn't like that. I need some time alone. I need to talk to a few people to see if it's the truth."

I still couldn't believe that it was the truth, but it was as if I didn't want it to be. I remember when I had stopped by to see Alice and Rose when I saw my friends with Edward and… a little girl, who was the spitting image of Edward.

I had just left Jacob outside of Cold Stone when I decided to go walking. I needed some fresh air before I would go and approach my friends. I wasn't even sure if Jacob was telling the truth, but because of how the events of our date had went, I didn't want to spoil it by getting pissed off. Yeah, it was something that I didn't even want to think about.

"And she's how old, Edward?"

I heard Emmett's voice and I frowned. Edward was back? Since when did he even come back?"

"She'll be two in a few months," he answered as he bumped right into me, while Rosalie pushed the stroller where inside a little girl was sleeping. "B-Bella?"

I rolled my eyes. Oh fuck, Jacob was right. Inside was a little girl with ringlet curls and green eyes. It tore my insides apart.

"Oh my God… it's true," I gasped aloud as I bumped into a wall.

"Bella, I can explain…"

"Explain?" I screeched, glaring at him with intense anger as Rosalie led Emmett away. "You had sex with that bitch and you can explain? Are you fucking kidding me?"

Edward's eyes went wide at my vulgar language. "We were broken up and –"

"Oh? I get it now. We broke up and you jump into bed with that slut? Oh yeah, you're really innocent now," I said, shaking my head as I pointed a finger in between the two of us. "You always wanted that bitch… her blond hair and those eyes. I was just average compared to her."

"No, Bella, you were perfect. It was me," he said as he let his eyes meet mine. "I came back to Forks to explain everything to you but I was too late."

"You should have told me sooner. Do you know who told me?" I grumbled as I placed my hands on my hips. "I had to hear it from Jacob Black."

"Yeah, I heard you were on a date with him," Edward murmured, shaking his head in disbelief. "After everything he did to you, you're dating him?"

"It's really none of your business what I do with my personal life."

The more that I thought about the situation, the more upset that I felt about myself because I had thought that Edward had been the perfect boyfriend. He wasn't. Hell, it was like I wanted to see what was there, but it really wasn't – not by a long shot. I was getting more and more pissed when I thought about Edward getting Tanya Denali pregnant with his daughter.

I remember when I had the pregnancy scare and Edward had told me that he wasn't ready to become a father. I shook my head at the thought and frowned. God, it made me sick to my stomach that he would have a baby with Tanya instead of me, especially when we had dated more than just a few months.

"Bella, are you home? It's me – Jake."

I knew that I looked like a hot mess but I couldn't really do anything to fix it. Besides, Jacob hadn't done anything to make Edward cheat on me. I got up, keeping the throw wrapped around my shoulders and pulled the door open to see Jacob with a grocery paper bag in his arms.

When I saw her, I felt like this whole situation was my fault because of the fact that I had opened my mouth about Cullen's infidelity with Bella. Yeah, she didn't deserve any of this pain. I would do anything to make her happy if it was the last thing I would ever do. Even standing in a pair of boxer shorts, a tank top, a pair of fuzzy, brown slippers, and a throw around her shoulders, she looked pretty damn cute like she always did.

"Oh, Bells."

"I know I look pretty bad right now but I can't… stop crying. Alice, Rosalie, and the guys won't leave me alone. Even Edward has tried to call me. I feel like changing my phone number but they'll just come over," she frowned, tears falling down her cheeks. She shook her head. "W-Why did he do this to me?"

"I… I don't know, beautiful, but in my book, you're so much better without him," I told her as I walked into her little apartment.

"Maybe so, but I'm still hurt," she frowned as she shut the door, locking it and looked at the bag. "What's with the bag?"

"Dinner, Bella. I thought I'd make some dinner since I'm pretty sure that you have been starving. And well, I love food."

When I heard the laugh leave her lips, I felt elated. She looked over at me with a bright smile on her face. Oh yeah, I was pretty sure that I would be the one to pick up the pieces of her broken heart. Edward lost his chance when he had sex with Tanya and it was my turn now. I deserved it, right?

"And what's for dinner?" she asked curiously, leading me into the kitchen after she flipped the light switch on. "I mean, you really don't have to do this, Jake."

"No, it's fine. I don't mind cooking something to eat for a beautiful girl, especially you, Bella Swan."

When I looked at her, I saw her flushed cheeks and I grinned to myself. This would officially be our second date. It amazed me because before Bella, I had never wanted to date before. I had always been attracted to Bella but she had been dating Cullen the entire time we had been in high school. If Edward even tried to win back Bella, there would be hell to pay. I was going to win this time.

Everything was a mess, and as much as I hated what Jacob did, it had to be done. Edward had broken my sister's heart and I couldn't forgive him. Because of Rosalie and Alice's close relationship or the fact that Bella would be royally pissed off with me, I couldn't attack him. Also, there was the fact that Edward was a single father to a little girl. Yeah, Edward was fucked in my book.

I turned my head when I saw Edward. I crossed my arms over my chest, staring him up and down. "What do you want, man?"

"You're still mad, aren't you?"

"Ya think?" I rolled my eyes, shaking my head in complete disgust. "You fucked my sister over. Why should I ever be mad at you?"

Edward sighed. "Man, it was a drunken mistake. I would never hurt Bella, but –"

"Yet, you did, man," I said with a shrug of my shoulders, leaning against the side of my jeep. "What the fuck do you even want? Why are you here?"

Edward looked down at the ground. "I… Well, I want Bella back."

I laughed as my body shook. "And you came to me for my approval or something?"

"No, that's not exactly it, actually," Edward said to me with a shrug of his shoulders, sliding a hand into his hair and raking it through. "I wanted to know how serious Bella and Jake were."

"Honestly, it's none of your business anymore. I mean, who Bella dates or has sex with is none of your business, Edward," Rosalie said, approaching us. She shot a look at Edward. "You have a daughter with a woman – a woman Bella didn't like. She won't take you back. I know that if I were her, I wouldn't take you back."

"Thanks a lot," Edward mumbled under his breath as he stormed off.

"He must be crazy or something."

"I don't know, Rosalie, but I hope it won't get nasty," I said as I looked at her. "So, you ready to get going?"

Rosalie laughed. "You just want to help Jasper and Alice taste the cake for the wedding."

I grinned brightly. "I like food. I'm a growing man.
