As Emily walked back to the stove to finish cooking dinner, I sighed. I ran a hand through my short hair. My eyes looked over to Emily and then back to Sam. As my face became serious, I sat down in the chair across from Sam.

"I didn't do this intentionally, but you know that."

"Man, what are you talking about? You are making it sound like you did something pretty bad," Sam said with a shake of his head as he looked over to me. "Spit it out. What is making you all crazy?"

"I imprinted on –"

"Man, that's great!" Sam said with a big smile as he turned to look at Emily. "Babe, did you hear that?"

Emily laughed. "How could I not? You guys aren't so quiet. Congratulations, Jacob!"

"Um… I'm not done. Sam, the thing is I… imprinted on a vampire. Bella's a vampire."

I could see the shocked look on both Sam and Emily's faces, and honestly, I didn't blame them because this was something that no one had ever expected. I never thought that I would ever imprint on anyone, especially Isabella Swan, but I had. No one ever thought that the girl I would imprint on would be a damn bloodsucker. This was something that I was still getting used to. All I knew was that I would not let anyone kill Bella, even though she was the one creature that the pack and I killed.

"Oh, Jacob-"

"Jacob, I don't even know what to say. I know this isn't even your fault. No one can just choose who they imprint on," Sam began as he sat down in the chair, running a hand through his hair. He glanced over at Emily before looking back to me. "Does she know?"

"No… she's going to the meadow tomorrow. She doesn't even remember me - not really," I sighed as I looked down at the ground, trying to be strong. "I never expected that this would happen…"

"Was it the Cullens that did this to Bella?" Sam asked, trying to keep his cool, moving away from Emily just in case he lost control. "Did they turn her into a vampire?"

"I don't know who turned Bella into a vampire, but for some odd reason, I don't think it was those leeches," I explained to Sam, taking a brownie from the bowl that Emily had set down, taking a bite. "I don't know what to do, but Bella –"

"She's important to you," Sam noted to me. "I'll talk to the guys, Jake. I can't even imagine what the hell you are going through right now. From losing Bella, to finding out she's a vampire, and then imprinting – that's got to be some hard shit right there."

"Yeah and she's supposed to be moving to Chicago. If she does, you know that's exactly where I am going," I told Sam and Emily, taking a deep breath, looking out the kitchen window. "I just can't let her go for a second time, now that I have her back."

"So, you would leave?" Sam asked me, and I nodded. "Jacob-"

"Sam, I can't just let her go."

"Jacob, what Sam is trying to say is that wherever you go, we're going to be right there. I mean, we've been thinking about moving, anyways," Emily said with a smile in my direction. "Besides, you'll miss my cooking."

I had to laugh. Emily always knew the right things to say to make me forget about my troubles. Although, I wish that I didn't have any troubles.

"I wouldn't ask you guys to move-"

"Nonsense, Jacob," Sam said with a shake of his head. He ran a hand through his hair when he stood up from his seat to get himself a glass of water. "You're part of this pack and you've found the woman you are to be with. We will move if that's what Bella is going to do. What you need to do is bring her here."

I looked at Sam with a raised eyebrow. "Excuse me?"

"We're not going to hurt her. I promise you I will keep the pack in line, but-"

"It can maybe trigger a memory of being here in the reservation," Emily interrupted as she placed some food in front of Sam and me at the table. "Jacob, it will all work out. I promise."

Fuck me. I really didn't think that this guy, Jacob, was hot. He had quite the temper and he smelled awful. I figured he was a werewolf from what Tanya had told me about werewolves smelling horrible to vampires. The smell had obviously gone away not too long after he said my name. It was strange for me to feel such a strong sensation for a man that I barely knew. Sure, my human self had known him before, but ever since I became a vampire, I had practically lost my memories. It was the one thing that I despised with a passion.

"Bella, are you all right?" Kate asked, concerned, as she took a seat next to me with a small smile on her face, and she took my pale, cold hand into her own. "You've been quiet since you returned from the mall. Is everything okay?"

"I'm fine," I lied.

"Bella," Kate said with a shake of her head. Squeezing my hand, she looked at me. "Garrett and Tanya went hunting and they won't be able to hear you. You know you can tell me anything."

I sighed as I looked at my hands when Kate let go of it and I bit my lip when I looked at the woman that had basically raised me after finding me in the meadow. I knew that I could trust her or I was hoping that I could.

"Kate, I didn't go to the mall."

Kate chuckled. "I figured that you didn't go. Where did you go?"

"Forks… I went to Forks." I saw the shocked look on her face, and I sighed. "Don't worry, I didn't go see my family, but I did run into my best friend, Jacob."

"Oh, Bella, you shouldn't have done that," Kate told me, giving me a worried look, and she frowned. "I don't want to worry about you when we move."

"I know, I know, but apparently Jacob's a huge part of my life. I am going to see him tomorrow," I told Kate with a serious look on my face and I frowned when I saw the disapproval on her face. "Kate, just trust me, okay?"

Kate nodded her head as she pushed some of her blond hair from her face. "Fine, Bella. I just want you to be very careful when you go see him."

"I will," I said, deciding not to tell Kate that Jake was a werewolf. "I think he is the only one to remind me of what my life as a human was."

"Just be careful," Kate told me once again, and I nodded. "You stink, anyways. What'd you do – roll around in the dirt or something?"

"A fucking leech, man?" Paul growled as I walked into the kitchen that was surrounded by the pack. "Are you crazy?"

"Stop it, Paul."

Hearing Sam's words, Paul shook his head. "No, Sam. This is bull shit and-"

"You're acting like Jacob did this intentionally," Embry interrupted as he shook his head at Paul. "You need to calm your ass down. If anything, Jake should be pissed the fuck off at you for imprinting on his sister…"

My eyes went wide at the words of Paul imprinting on Rachel. "What? You… imprinted on my sister and didn't tell me?"

"Look, that's different. Rachel's human and Bella-"

"Paul, don't even finish that sentence. None of us chose who we imprinted on and it's not Bella's fault."

"Do you know that?" Paul growled low in his throat as he crossed his arms across his chest. "Do you fucking know that she didn't ask to be a vampire? For all we know, the Cullens probably changed her!"

"Fuck, Paul. Shut up!" Sam snapped as he looked at him with a raised eyebrow. "I have told you once already… just knock it off."

Paul slumped when he heard Sam's Alpha voice. "I'm going to see Rachel."

Before I had a chance to speak, Paul was already in wolf form when I looked out the door where Paul was running. I sighed as I ran a hand through my hair, standing by the door.

"Jake, when you do talk to Bella, bring her here. Since she can't remember you or anything, maybe there's something we can do to trigger her memory," Sam said with a pat on my shoulder, and he bit his lip. "I've always liked Bella."

"You've talked to her before?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.

"No… but Charlie was good friends with Harry," Sam confided as he glanced over to Leah, who lowered her head.

I then noticed Embry place his hand on Leah's shoulder, and I raised an eyebrow when I saw the way that Leah stared at Embry. What the fuck? Really? I knew I hadn't been paying much attention the last couple of weeks because of my distractions of thinking that Bella was alive, but did I really miss this?

"All right, I should get going to see her. I just hope that she actually comes by to see me since I know that she was a bit hesitant."

"I am pretty sure that she will show up," Embry said with a grin in my direction, giving Leah's hand a squeeze after grabbing it in his hand.

"Good luck, man," Sam said, giving me another pat on my shoulder, and I took off out the door before the guys and Leah could stop me.

What was I even doing? I wasn't even sure if I should be here, but I wanted to. I didn't know this Jacob Black, but he seemed very friendly. At least, he did in my journal that I had kept as a human. It was so odd that I felt such a connection the way that I did with him. It was strange, and I was determined to find out what it was about him that made me so interested.

As I turned around there Jacob stood, in a pair of jeans, sneakers, and a shirt that hugged at his chest like it was a sin. I could also tell that he worked out a lot too from the bulging muscles in his chest and his arms. His arms were really, really huge.

"Hi, Jacob," I mumbled as I looked up at him from the patch of grass that I was sitting on.

"I am really glad that you showed up," he said to me as I watched him take a seat in the grass across from me. "I was scared that I would be here… alone."

"I wasn't going to come at first, but as I was talking to Kate, I knew I had to. You're the only one that can tell me about my life," I told him, with a hesitant smile on my face. "And you seemed like you wanted to talk to me about something."

"I did – I do, Bella," he told me as he placed his hands in his lap while his eyes looked into my golden eyes. "I don't even know where to start."

"Well, for one, I know you're a werewolf," I told him with a wink as I looked at him. "Kate told me that werewolves usually stink, but you don't for some reason."

"Well, isn't that strange?" he winked as he looked at me. "Are you still moving to Chicago? I mean, that is what you said the other day. Have your plans changed?"

I shook my head and I could see the sadness in his eyes. For some reason, I didn't like the idea of him being sad or even hurt for that matter.

"If you move to Chicago, I'm going too," he stated with a huge smile on his face. "Wherever you go, I am there, Bella. You are my best friend, and I won't lose you again."

"Jacob, no-"

I chuckled as I gently grabbed her cold hand, which surprised me to the coldness or the fact that she hadn't pushed it away. "Bella, I am going where you go. You're my best friend."

And my imprint but I can't tell you that.

"But your family and friends…"

"Bella, you get all of us," I told her with a wink as I slid my other hand on top of her hand that I was holding gently. "Everyone wants to see you."

"They do?" she asked in surprise as she bit down on her bottom lip gently. "Even though I am a vampire they want to see me?"

"Yes, Bella," I told her as I let my hand slide up to her cheek. "What do you say?"

"Okay," she said with a shy smile and nod on her face. "I'll go if they won't try to hurt me."

"I will. I do have one question," I said, as I looked at her with a serious look on my face. "Do you remember how you became a vampire? That's the one thing we're all dying to know. Did you ask to become a vampire or were you turned into one against your will?"

"I was changed against my will."

I sighed as I pulled my hands away and ran a hand through my hair, my eyes looking over to his face. "This vampire named Victoria did it. She was very sloppy, actually. Usually, from what I hear, vampires usually drain a human of all their blood, but she left me to die in my own blood…"

"Did she have red eyes and red, curly hair?"

I froze to the description of what sounded like Victoria and I simply nodded my head.

"We killed her, Bella," he told me, and I was so glad that my suspicions of Victoria being dead finally come to a rest.

"Good," I said simply as I looked at him. "You really are going to come to Chicago?"

He nodded his head as he looked at me. "Yes, but before we do, you need to see the pack."

I gulped as I stared at Jacob, and I watched him grab my hand again. It was nice the way his hot hand felt in my cold one. It was a feeling that I never felt before, and I really liked the feeling I felt in my body being so close to him.

"We're already here, Jake."

I turned my head to the sound of a male voice where seven other people stood, either behind him or next to him.

"Hi, Bella. I'm Sam Uley."
