BPOV

I was not sure how long I had slept, but it was too long. Any moment that did not involve relishing in that which was my husband and my family was a moment lost never to be regained. Rays from the sun peeked through the trees. I felt a warm ray on my face as I turned over, still secured in Edward’s arms. Closing my eyes let that ray soak into my face.

“How do you feel? Are you sore?” My skin vibrated as these words were barely whispered into my ears.

I inhaled deeply and wrapped his arms tighter around me. “No, not sore at all,” I lied. He was not going to worry about my post-lovemaking aching; no today. “I don’t think there is a word to describe how you made me feel last night. ”

“This is our first sunrise with you as my wife.”

“I know; it’s beautiful.”

“In my eyes, the only thing that is beautiful is you.”

I turned back over to face my gorgeous husband, “You are going to give me an ego.”

He laughed, “A woman with a beauty such as yours deserves an ego so large she won’t fit through a set of French doors.”

“If you’ll remember, my husband, I had quite a large head last night.”

“What?”

“Well, you were inside me-and therefore I had a big head…grated it was inside me, but I still had it,” I chuckled.

“Bella Cullen,” he gasped teasingly, “such lewd thoughts.”

“You know you love it.”

“Yes I do. I love everything about you. Crap, you should cover up.”

Just as I pulled the sheet from around my waist to under my arms-enough to cover my breasts-the door swung open and Alice poked her head through, “Good you are decent.”

“You knew that already my psychic sister,” Edward shot back sarcastically as he pulled the blanket up around me a little more as he tried to block me and my nakedness from the family…as if they didn’t already hear us last night.

“Who cares?! Edward’s finally a MAN!” Emmett swung the door open jokingly and winked his eyebrows. “And Bella, who knew that you were such a dirty woman?” Simultaneously Alice, Rose, and Esme smacked him on the back of the head causing him to fall forward do a face plant. When he stood up there was a noticeable dip in the floor where his face once lay.

“What do you think-a seven for lack of fluidity and not sticking the landing,” I joked.

“I would go for a six and a half for-half a point for lack of uniform.”

“Oh God, Edward! Thanks for bringing visions of Emmett the Ballerina back in my head,” I exclaimed as I hit him with the pillow that once lay next to me.”

“I still have the tutu.”

I threw the pillow at Emmet and he caught it as feathers flew out of one end. As remnants of feathers few around the room I burst out laughing remembering the practical joke I pulled on him just months ago. My hearty laughter, which my family lovingly joined in on, quickly turned into sobs. I was pulled into Edwards’s chest and heard the door close.

My tears subsided as Edward shushed me and rubbed my back lovingly. He continuously kissed my forehead and hair. I composed myself slowly and pushed myself up on my arm to look at him. I admired how the ray of sunshine caused his skin to glisten. I was going to miss that………

….actually no I wouldn’t-I wouldn’t even have a chance to miss him. I wondered if that could have been a blessing in disguise.

*****

Edward joined me in the shower as I started to get cleaned up. We made love in the shower six times. Afterwards he wrapped me in a towel and carried me out of bathroom and back into our bedroom. Alice had laid out a very cute black silk and lace tube top, cuffed white capris, and black strappy flats. She knew me so well.

She also had a black lace strapless bra and boyshort set on the bed. Edward helped me get dressed. It was so sensual-especially when he helped me into my boyshorts and slid his hands up the rest of my body. When he fastened my bra his hands slid down my body and he grabbed and slapped my ass causing me to playfully cry out.

He helped me step into my capris and pulled them up around my waist, zipped them up, and fastened them shut. My top was slid over my head and down my arms. He adjusted it to sit properly around me and then zipped it up on the side.

He had me sit on the edge of the bed. He pulled one foot up to his shoulder and slid his hands up and down my calves. He kissed each of my toes then slipped each shoe on each respective foot. He removed the towel from my head and sat behind me and brushed my hair. As it air dried, he ran his fingers through my hair. I started to pull it back, and he shook his head no, he wanted me to leave it down.

I obliged.

He stood up next to me still dressed in a towel around his waist, let go of my had for three seconds and came back to me fully clothed in a pair of dark blue jeans, a red button-down shirt, and black casual shoes. He held out his hand. I placed my hand on his and feigned a smile. I stood up and walked down the hallway and stopped about half way down it.

“Are they all down there?”

He nodded.

“I’m saying this because I know you all can hear me. I don’t want today to be any different than the day before yesterday as and tomorrow would be under normal circumstances. Do you all understand me,” I said all this and asked in my normal voice.

“They do,” Edward answered on their behalf.

“How long do we have?”

“They’ll be here just after sunset,” he said wrapping his arms around my waist and bringing me into his chest, “which will be at 8:36 p.m.”

“10 hours.”

“Yes.”

“I want to go see Charlie.”

“Are you sure that’s such a good idea.”

“I need to see Charlie.”

“Ok, we will go see Charlie. Maybe you should cook him lunch.”

“He’d like that. He loves Grandma Swan’s Stroganoff.”

“We’ll stop by the store on our way.”

“Oh my God,” I gasped, “what are we going to tell him? What are we going to tell him when I’m gone? What are we going to tell everyone?”

“Shhhh, my love. Alice thought about that. I’m going to have an accident on the state highway. We’ll tell Charlie that it was a hit-and-run and it caused me to lose control and crash into the side of a hill on the passenger side. The impact on your side is going to be so severe that no one would have survived.

“Carlisle’s been posing as a concerned parent and calling a few hospitals close by. The body of a young girl was found in Seattle and brought into the Seattle Grace morgue. Her build is similar to yours as is her hair. Her um….her face…she’s been disfigured. She’s homeless. We’ll do what we can to find her family and ensure they are taken care of.”

“Oh,” I spoke to him quietly. I couldn’t quite absorb his words as they were coming out of his mouth. I understood them, though.

“Charlie will want to ID your….he’ll force himself to take a look at……..he won’t be able to stand the sight, so he’ll trust my word about what happened. It will help that Carlisle will be there with him. Carlisle will get her shortly and we’ll stage accident tonight. We’ll tell him that we were going to surprise everyone by moving back early and that the rest of the family was a few hours ahead of us and was able to unpack and settle in-that’ll at least account for the appearance of the house.

“Who will tell Mom?”

“Charlie will call her and Phil. They’ll come up for the…..”

I broke the lingering silence by asking, “The Pack will know the truth?”

“Yes. Carlisle had already called Sam and explained the situation. They’ve been highly agitated since he called and have been patrolling the area round the house.”

“But the treaty!”

“They don’t care anymore. They want to make sure the Volturi don’t have any other tricks up their sleeves. They realize that there is nothing that can be done because they would die as well and that would leave the people they’ve been created to protect unprotected and vulnerable. They put up a fight; Sam was ready to kill them on sight, but Carlisle was able to explain how important it was for them not to react. They don’t want to reveal their existence to the Volturi if they don’t know about them yet. They have come to this decision very reluctantly.

”Edward wiped the tears from my cheeks. I stood there for a few more moments in his arms before I moved toward the stairs with him hand-in-hand. I started to smell smoke coming from the kitchen and whipped my head to look at Edward who I caught shaking his head with a slight grin as his eyes rolled.

Not sure exactly what was going on, I dashed at human speed down the stairs, through the living room and into the kitchen with Edward in tow. That’s where I found Emmett standing over the stove with a bucket of water, throwing it onto a skillet.

“What the hell happened in here,” I asked with my voice raising about two octaves.

“Well, it was supposed to be breakfast,” Emmett grunted.

“Breakfast? Do I eat charcoal now? What are those?”

“Well, they were pancakes.”

THOSE, were pancakes?”

“Yep, I had the pancakes, Jazz was going to make you an omelet, Alice was getting the OJ, Rose the milk, Esme’s cutting flowers from the garden and Carlisle’s with her.”

I started to cough even though the smoke had stopped rising from the pancake briquette.

“See,” Emmett said pointing at the counter, “I was even going to put blueberry eyes, a strawberry nose, and a whipped cream smile on it.”

I smiled widely at him and picked up the whipped cream canister. “Em, that’s very sweet, but you know what would have made it better?”

“What’s that?”

“Whip ‘Em.”

“Whip ‘Em? What’s that? Where can I get it-where ever it is, it’s yours, little sis!”

“Oh, we can get it here in Forks, although it was also available in New Hampshire.”

“Great, so where do I--,” he was quickly interrupted by a stream of whipped cream to his face.

“Huh,” he started when he wiped the cream from his nose, “I don’t know how or why I didn’t see that one coming.” He flicked the cream off his hands and it hit the window behind the sink.

“Aww, has poor lil’ Emmy been bested by his little human sister?”

“Is that a challenge little sister?”

“Muhbuh,” I mumbled after I squirted some whipped cream into my mouth.

“Bella,” Edward warned….while he played double agent and swiped the bag of pancake mix off the counter and placed it in my left hand. I wasn’t sure if Emmett saw him or not.

“Yes, husband?”

“I don’t believe you should be teasing Emmett,” he taunted.

“Why’s that?”

“Because you never know how he’ll retaliate,” he said swiping the whipped cream canister from my right hand.

“I guess you’re right,” I huffed.

“Hey, Bella?”

“Yes, husband?”

“NOW!” As he shot the whipped cream at Emmett and distracted him, I threw the pancake mix at him and then grabbed an egg, tossed it at him, and watched it crack as it hit him in the forehead. “DUCK!”

As I ducked I caught the sight of the last few ounces of milk being thrown over the kitchen island accompanied by more eggs, some cheese, and about a pound of flour. I was ducking under the lip of the counter and laughing so hard my sides hurt. I could feel Edward’s body moving as he laughed with me. Suddenly the back door swung open.

“EMMMETT!” We all stopped in our tracks and looked over at Esme standing in the doorway with a not-so-happy look on her face. “What have I told you about throwing food in the house?”

“Uh-oh, little Emmy’s in trouble,” I joked under my breath and Edward snickered.

Esme’s expression changed into a heart-stopping smile. She whipped a thick, green, rubber hose out from behind her and turned the nozzle on while pointing it at Emmett. “I may have said no food fighting was allowed in the house, but I never said any about a water fight!!”

Emmett turned on the water in the sink and picked up the little hose attached to the faucet, stretched it out as far as possible, and leaned over the lip of the counter. I would have been pelted with cold water had Edward not been able to hear his thoughts and run me out into the garage. My laughter echoed through the house.

By the time we had made it to the garage, I had been laughing so hard my eyes were tearing up. Edward set me down on the passenger side of the Volvo and gave me a deep, passionate kiss. “I have never heard Emmett’s thoughts so joyful. That’s the happiest I think I have ever heard him.”

“Did I get him in trouble?”

“Not at all; he’s more than happy to clean up the mess. Plus, it won’t take him too long. You see, we move fast.”

“I know I found that out last night.”

He furrowed his brow and looked at me with a face of mocked offense. It dawned on me what I had just said. “No! Wait, that’s not what I meant!”

He laughed heartily at me, swung me around in his arms and dipped me before kissing me again. After letting me come back up for air, he opened my car door, closed it after I was securely in, and flashed to his side of the car. We backed out of the garage and left for the store, then Charlie’s house.
