The car pulled to a stop at Bella's house. I looked at my sleeping angel. She looked to skinny and there were shadows underneath her eyes. I felt a pang when I realized that I had done this to her. She sighed in her sleep.

I got out and walked around to the other side of the car. As I picked her up she stirred slightly.

"Bella," I sighed as I heard Charlie call. Then flinched as I read his mind. Oh that bastard. Here he just waltzes back here with her. Why is she so tired? What did that bastard do to her?

"Charlie," Bella mumbled almost inaudible to all but my ears.

"Shh. It's okay; you're home and safe. Just sleep." I whispered.

"I can't believe you have the nerve to show your face here." I flinched at the venom in Charlie's voice.

"Stop it, Dad." came a soft voice. Charlie didn't hear it but I did.

"What is wrong with her?" Charlie demanded.

"She is just very tired, Charlie," I said quietly. "Please let her rest."

"Don't tell me what to do!" Charlie yelled. OH the nerve of the little boy. "Give her to me. Get your hands of her!"

I tried to pass her to Charlie, but Bella clung to my shirt. I concealed a smile, My Bella.

"Cut it out, Dad," She said it a little bit louder then her previous complaints. Bella finally opened her eyes. "Be mad at me."

"You bet I will be," Charlie promised. "Get inside."

"Kay. Let me down," She sighed. I gently set her on her feet. Bella swayed slightly then tried to take a step. I barely managed to catch her while trying to maintain human speed.

"Just let me get her upstairs," I said. "Then I'll leave."

"No," Bella cried. I felt better knowing she still wanted me.

"I wont be far," I whispered in her ear so low that Charlie would never have heard it.

"Fine," Charlie grumbled. If he thinks he is going to get away with this he is mistaking.

I walked up down the familiar hallway. My Bella eyes shut when we reached the stairs. I slowly walked up in her room I looked around. It was clean to clean as if for the past couple months no one has lived here. I gently laid her on the bad and carefully pried her fingers off my shirt. She was already asleep.

I walked down the stairs. Charlie was there at the bottom as I knew he was.

"YOU-YOU," Charlie was a strange shade of purple. And his thoughts were incoherent.

"Sir, please. Don't wake Bella." I said as he was shouting.

"Don't tell me what to do!" The nerve. But he took a few deep breaths. And when he spoke it was softer but by no mean less harsh. "You do not know what it was like. What she was like."

I saw images of my Bella. Her skin was pall almost as pall as mine. There were shadows underneath her eyes and she was way way way too skinny. But it was her eyes that scared me the most. The were blank, glazed over, there was none of the depth I remembered.

"I want you out of here. You are never to walk through that door again. Ever." He took a deep breath. "Now go."

I walked out the door and back to the still running car. Emmett and Rosalie were there looking at me curiously.

"Drive but let me out once we are out of sight." I sighed, Charlie's memories played in my mind. When they let me out I ran back to Bella's house and into her room.
I lay down on the bed beside her. Breathing in her scent, stroking her hair, kissing her forehead. I was back with my Bella. And there and then I knew I would never have the strength to leave her again.
