Painting On The Wall

Summary:
A story about the Volturi doing what they can to pick up the pieces after their encounter with the Cullens (post - Breaking Dawn). Once the pieces are taken care of, do they have it in them to put it all back together, or will Aro's hobbie for collecting gifts become his own undoing? Follow the Volturi and the Cullens in this multi-POV story as they journey across the world discovering new allies while the loom of fate spins their threads. Who's lifeline gets cut short and who will remain victorious? Only your reviews will tell which ending I release.

Notes:
All Chapters are subject to editing as the final out come of this story relys on you, the reader / reviewer. It is likely that in time I will have a companion piece to this with the alternate ending for sake of keeping the stories flow fluid. Please remember to R+R.

With time slipping by unnoticed, the years passed. The sun rose and set day after day, year after year, and with time comes the inevitable move to a new location. Watching Bella and the others say farewell to Charlie and Sue was I think the hardest part, but we promised a yearly visit to Forks as they did unto us, in our new location among the Rocky Mountain ranges of California.

Johnsondale, a nice little place of five-thousand eight-hundred and thirty seven people, not too far out of Bakersfield and an average of three-hundred and eleven days a year of overcast weather. Carlisle and myself did a lot of research in finding this place. A large home set in a wide valley ranch setting, propped between some of the most beautiful tree and snow covered mountains my eyes have seen, is only a short distance from town. A few of the out-buildings scattered across the acreage used to serve as horse barns and storage sheds, surely me and my brothers could knock those over in a good brawl, they'll need to be removed anyways to make room for a few new houses. Esme's already got some prints drawn up for a few different houses for us "kids" and the rest of Jacobs pack brothers. Though Nessie and Jacobs home is going to need some alterations due to some much unexpected news of another little bundle of joy on the way. Samantha however couldn't be happier to have a little brother or sister to look out for. Me on the other hand might just use Jacob to knock out a wall or two to expand the place.

As our convoy of luxury cars trailed up the long drive we pulled into the massive attached garage while I backed in my Aston Marton in and Bella beside me with her Farrari followed by Jacob in my Volvo and the others. The house itself is your average log and timber exterior for this area with a green steel roof, all just set to a much larger scale. The interior is a light colored, open concept and cathedral ceiling with modern ideals and a western touch, focused around a large half log staircase supported by two giant timbers running from floor to ceiling and wood dowel banaster railing accenting it to the half upper floor and a loft over the garage. With temporary sleeping quarters for Ness, Jacob and Samantha upstairs in the loft, Carlisle and Esme have claimed the larger of the four other bedrooms in the house. Carlile's study is set to the back of the first floor behind the staircase with the kitchen and dining room to the right off of the living room that features a beautiful window wall showcasing the vast picturesque mountains.

The eleven of us decided to go for a hunt in the Sequoia National Forest thats not too far off while we waited. The moving trucks would show up tomorrow along with Seth, Leah, Embry, Quil and of course Quil's little-big girl, Claire.

The trucks showed up shortly after we got back around three o'clock in the afternoon. Four burley men in two large trucks backed in and started unloading the furniture from one truck while Alice rummaged through the second in search for her massive boxes of clothing. We continued to help the men until they were finished and happy to be sent back on their way.

Emmett and Jasper decided that rather than unpack boxes, they would go and grapple outside and start on the demolition of the out-buildings while leaving the rest to us but not before Esme warned them to leave atleast one barn standing for the wolves. I was assisting Carlisle set up in his study when Samantha came bounding in with a smile on her face that lit up like the 4th of July and her mothers curls splayed a mess from running around the expance of the new home.

"Shh.. I'm hiding from daddy." she said with a smile and big brown eyes while burying herself, hiding in empty boxes.

"GOTCHA!" Samantha laughed wildly as Jacob picked her up spun her over his head after snatching her out of the cardboard mess.

"How are you guys makin out out there?" I asked curiously as I pulled another painting out and hung it on the wall.

"Bella and Nessie just about have our stuff wrapped up and put away, Ness is gonna go help Alice tackle her closet and Bella's on her way to help Esme and Rose set up the kitchen when shes done."

"That one new?" Jacob was pointing at the painting I just picked up.

"Ya, more or less. These are the ones that Renesmee painted for me last year while I sat back and told her all about my history. Carlisle's already got his up on the wall over there, he said I could borrow this wall for now until we get our house built."

"Whats that one?" Samantha asked in a very sweet child-like voice, pointing to a smaller picture that I just placed on a hook.

"It's from long ago before I met Grandma Bella, around the time that Uncle Jasper and Aunt Alice came along and joined our family."

"Whoa.." she gasped while she pointed to a larger one that I just picked up and discarded the wrapping from. "And whats that one?" The painting was encased in an old oak frame, hand finished and painted a faded gold. The setting was in a snowy field divided by a narrow fissure and massive numbers of people on either side."

"Tell me, tell me papa."

How could I turn away such a beautiful pair of eyes, handed down to her through the generations. They reminded me of Bella so much.
