Painting On The Wall

Summary:
A story about the Volturi doing what they can to pick up the pieces after their encounter with the Cullens (post - Breaking Dawn). Once the pieces are taken care of, do they have it in them to put it all back together, or will Aro's hobbie for collecting gifts become his own undoing? Follow the Volturi and the Cullens in this multi-POV story as they journey across the world discovering new allies while the loom of fate spins their threads. Who's lifeline gets cut short and who will remain victorious? Only your reviews will tell which ending I release.

Notes:
All Chapters are subject to editing as the final out come of this story relys on you, the reader / reviewer. It is likely that in time I will have a companion piece to this with the alternate ending for sake of keeping the stories flow fluid. Please remember to R+R.

"May I?" I asked my daughter, who has been monopolizing on the story telling since dinner time.

"Sure, I'm going to go grab the kids a snack, keep going, I'll catch up in a few minutes."

"Once the plane touched down at Cairo International, the twenty five of us now joined by our cousins in Denali, were greeted by Kebi in the pick-up terminal and were escorted to the three long white stretch limousines with black tinted windows that were parked out front of the airport. Our ride through Egypt's, White Desert was only about three and a half hours long while we drove down the winding sand packed roads that lay between the endless rolling dunes of sand.

"Upon our arrival we entered Amun's estate which they claimed by no accident as we all knew that we couldn't just stand around in the desert sun all day waiting for others to arrive. It was a temporary residence just for this occasion. Where the rightful owners of this property were, I had no Idea, but I didn't want to think about their most unfortunate demise. Once we pulled in through the white iron gates that sealed the high, cream colored wall of carved blocks, we continued up to a great white mansion and started seeing some very familiar faces along with others that I didn't yet recognize.

"Alistair had pulled through, this was quite the gathering already and to add twenty five more to it gave me the greatest confidence that we were infact going to succeed in our purpose. Among the faces I recognized were Kachiri, Senna and Zafrina the Amazons; Amun and Benjamin were among them of course; Siobhan and Liam from Ireland along with their friend Maggie; and two figures in the back watching the others from behind, I couldn't see their faces, but standing next to each other in darkened robes with hair of snow white and midnight black, I knew it could only be the Romanians, Stefan and Vladimir.

"Or as we like to call them, Dracula One and Dracula Two." I pointed out as the children giggled to my reference.

"Just then as we pulled upto the entrance in a circular drive and started to get out of the vehicles, a body was thrown across the length of the estate and into the now shattered fountain in the middle of the drive behind us. The body that lay there limp I didn't recognize, when all of a sudden a ghost-like spectral jaguar emerged from the body and charged at another vampire, its obvious attacker. The jaguar pounced with grace and speed as the female simply held out her hands to keep it at bay. Another spectral attacker came from behind the female and wrapped itself around her, binding her hands to her sides while the jaguar continued its attack. I noticed another body lying on the ground some distance away, likely belonging to the second ghostly being. Standing beside it was a vampire, quite young, dark toned skin and very tall just observing the match between the three. Suddenly he disappeared as he popped into the vise hold that the snake-like phantom had on the female and suddenly appeared back where he was with her in his grasp, just as if he never left. The two inanimate bodies suddenly came back to life and joined those that they had just rivaled.

"What was that all about?" I asked Kebi who was now standing near me. She informed me that those were some aquantances of Alistair, they came to help fight against the Volturi. A Mayan coven from the Tikal region of Guatemala that has been around for over two and a half millenia, roughly 500 B.C. "I could see the look on my face through Kebi's thoughts. It was that of shock and awe as my eyes nearly fell out of my face after what we had just witnessed."

The girls both laughted at this with pictures of my eyes falling out ran through their thoughts.

"Whats so funny in here?" Renesmee asked as she entered the room with sandwichs, drinks and a bag of chips for the girls to share.

"Papa's eyes fell out." Samantha continued to giggle. Renesmee laughed at the notion of me eyeless along with the children as she put the food on the desk for them.

"Did he get to the part where Auntie Rose flips out about her hair yet?"

"No! What happened to Auntie Rose's hair Papa?"

"Nothing Sammy, we're gettin' there." I replied with a grin.

"So we settled into the mansion and put away any baggage that we brought along. Emmett was the first to head back outside looking for a scrimage followed by Jasper and myself. We wanted to catch another round of the battle royal that took place when we pulled up. Carlisle was over with Amun and Jennifer getting details of his situation and filling him in on Jennifers. The verdict was plain. No more peace talks, it was time to end this once and for all. Dracula One and Two were both very pleased to over hear this.

"Perhaps this with be the time of reckoning." Stefan said to Vladimir.

"Perhaps this time we won't be sidelined by chit-chat." Vladimir exclaimed with a blank expression accented by the lifted corner of his mouth in attempt to break a grin.

"Perhaps."

"Perhaps."

"I see our shield has finally arrived."

"As has the fortune teller."

"I wonder what she foresees in the outcome?"

"Come now Stefan, do you think that they would show up as a force of twenty five strong if they thought we were going to lose?"

"Maybe thats why they bring so many, brother!"

"Perhaps."

"Perhaps."

"NESSIE-GIRL!" Zafrina shouted over the crowds waving at the young woman. "My you have grown so big in these past few years. How are you dear?"

"I'm fantastic Zafrina, its great to see you again." Renesmee replied to the tall dark lady. "It's so nice to get away from Forks, no one lets me leave the area except to hunt. I can't even go into town, I hate it there."

She chuckled "I'll have to have a chat with your mother about that for you. Where is she anyway? I have something I'd like to talk to her about."

"She's inside with the other ladies. Talking about men and their resort to fighting I would suppose. Come on, I'll get her for you."

Once inside Renesmee let out a holler. "MOM! GUESS WHO'S HERE?! SOMEONE WANTS TO SEE YOU!"

Zafrina burst into a fit of laughter. "I could have done that sweetheart."

"I know." Renesmee smiled back to her friend.

"Oh hello Zafrina, how have you been?" Bella called from the top of the curved staircase making her way down at a walking pace.

"I've been good, your little girl here is getting so big."

"Tell me about it, I'm not sure if she'll ever stop."

Renesmee wined outloud, "Mo-om, stop teasing infront of my friends."

"Anyway Bella, I wanted to talk to you about something. Come for a walk with me to the garden we have much to discuss."

"By all means Zafrina, please lead the way."

"Bella, do you remember when we were training you to use your shield, and Kate was helping?"

"Ya, sure, of course I do."

"You remember how you couldn't get it to work properly?"

"Of course, Edward kept getting hurt because I just couldn't get it right."

"Mm-hmm."

"What about it Zafrina?"

"After we got it working.. right, you were able to not only shield others, but you could cover over a distance and mould and shape your shield to fit tight to people."

"Yes, of course Zafrina.. What are you getting at, we know this already."

"How strong is it?"

"I can cover for about two miles in any direction, I still use it daily. Why? What are you thinking?"

"Well, I was actually thinking about Kate. Her -"

"So what does she have to do with me?" Bella cut her off.

Zafrina laughed at this. "Let me explain dear. See there are two basic types of gifts. Mental, like your sweet Nessie and beloved Edward. Then there are Physical gifts, like what Benjamin does."

"Okay.."

"And what Kate does, Bella."

"Okay, so Kates ability is Physical, so what, its still powered by her mind."

"Yes, thats why I needed to see you. I - I was hoping you would let me run an experiment on you." Zafrina said sheepishly.

"Oh." Bella looked shocked for a moment. "Sure, I suppose so. What did you want to do?"

"One moment, we'll need some more," Zafrina paused a moment. "participants." She chuckled as if she was the only person in on a joke.

"Meet me at the fountain in the middle of the drive. I'll go find Benjamin and Rosalie."
