It has been about 3 weeks since I first moved in with the Cullens and I was as big as a house and couch-bound. I was watching Carlisle play with Renesme when the baby started kicking. “Oh.” Carlisle’s head snapped up along with all the Cullens’ apart from Esme’s. “What?! What is it?!” Carlisle sounded panicked. “It’s kicking.” I smile and reach for his hand, “Come feel.” He takes my hand and I place his on where the baby is currently playing football. He smiles at me as he feels our baby move for the first time. Our gaze connects. We both smile. For a second it felt like we were the only 3 people in the room. The building. The town. The country. The world. Till all that was shattered as Esme screams, “That’s it! That thing is coming right out of her now!” What happened next was so quick. Carlisle was in front of me. Esme was half-way across the room with Edwards’ arms restraining her as he was whispering fast and soft in her ear. Esme was still struggling against Edward, fury and hate in her eyes. She managed to get free and straightened. “You’ve obviously made your choice.”
Alice tried to reason with her, “No, Mom. Don’t leave.”
“Sweetheart, I have to but this isn’t what I want to do. It was Carlisle’s decision.” And she walked out.
