"Bella they've made their decision and it's not in our favor, I want you to take Renesmee and run." Edward told me. This isn't happening. I glanced back at Renesmee sitting peacefully and happily on Jake's back.

"I'm not leaving you we have a plan and we'll stick to it and we will be fine." Even as I spoke the words, I didn't believe them.

"We already have a small chance of getting out safely and let alone together at the same time with no injuries or anything of the sort, Renesmee needs to have a parent with her. Just go." As he told me, I realized he is right; Renesmee does need at least one parent with her.

"Promise me we will be together again and you'll get out alive." I asked him to promise.

"I promise. I love you Bella."

"I love you Edward." We kissed once, not knowing how long until we will be together again.

"Now go!" Edward ordered as the Volturi decided to send people to attack us.

Quickly I ran scooping Renesmee up in my arms and running not looking back afraid of what I will see. Screams broke the otherwise silent air and I covered Renesmee's ears so she wouldn't be frightened by the screaming. "Momma what's happening?" Her sweet little soprano pitched voice asked in a worried tone.

I stopped running once we were out of earshot of everyone and everything. We are very far away and not anywhere near Forks anymore. "Sweetie, Daddy was worried about you and me so he sent you and me away because he loves us very much." I told her, I really don't want her worried so I only told her part of the truth.

"Okay, when will we see Daddy and Auntie Rose, Auntie Alice, Grandma Esme, Grandpa Carlisle, Uncle Emmett, Uncle Jasper, and Grandpa Charlie?" She asked.

"I don't know." Honestly, I'm not sure if everyone will make it out alive or not. Edward is the one I am worried the most about; Renesmee is going to need her father later on in life. Leaves in the distance suddenly stirred, glancing at Jacob once I pulled Renesmee back into my arms and took off running with her again. No one is going to take my daughter away from me.

We continued to run until we reached the boat that we can take to the safe spot, Isle Esme. We chose Isle Esme because only the Cullen's and Jake know about it and we can go outside during the day. Luckily Jacob knew how to drive the boat because I have absolutely zero idea how to and Renesmee is too little to know how to drive anything.

"Mommy where are we now?" Renesmee asked running around the boat with her lifejacket on and plopping down on my lap.

"We're going to the safe place Daddy arranged for us, he should come soon." I answered. Edward promised that he would eventually come if I were to have to take Renesmee away for safety reasons. Briefly, we talked about it around the same time that we discussed where to hide Renesmee.

Later at night, once everything we had was put away and Renesmee was asleep I called Edward's phone, no response. I called repeatedly before trying everyone's phone with no response from anyone. Carefully I fought my urge to hyperventilate at the realization of what could have happened. "He's fine Bella, they're all fine." I repeated over and over again. The chair's arm broke off in my grasp for support.

"Daddy, Daddy! AHHHHH!" Renesmee began screaming loudly in her sleep. Quickly I rushed into her room and began cradling her in my arms and comforting her.

"Ssssh. Baby girl its okay, just a dream. Everything is okay, it's just a dream, go back to sleep." She stopped screaming but continued to thrash in my arms for another minute and then her eyelids fluttered before she woke up.

"Momma, I want Daddy. Is he here yet?" Renesmee asked.

"No baby he's not here," but I wish with all my being he was.

"I knew it; I knew my dream was real and Daddy died!" She yelled and began to cry.

"No he didn't die. He will be here and Daddy will play our lullaby as you fall asleep, just like at home." I reassured her. Edward will be home eventually, he promised me that he would find us.

"You promise?" She asked sticking her little pinky finger up, wanting me to pinky promise her.

"Yes." Little did I know that he wouldn't be able to get to us.

Sixteen and a half years later

Today is my seventeenth birthday. I haven't seen my Daddy in sixteen and a half years. Momma sent Jacob to go find him but he was unsuccessful. She hasn't been the same since she took me away from the fight. Do not get me wrong she is happy but it's like there is an important piece missing. I hear her dry sob sometimes when she doesn't think I'm listening or thinks I can't hear her.

I spend a good portion of my free time doing a good portion of my own detective work trying to find Daddy using internet, contacting the few people I know, and using any old information I can find to guess as to where he might be or how I find someone who knows where he is. No one is aware of my plans to find him and put my parents together as they should be.

We never left Isle Esme. I grew up here and it's pretty secluded. On this island there is me, Jake, Momma (I never stopped calling her Momma for some reason), and a few local people whom we don't exactly talk to very often.

"Renesmee could you come here for a minute?" Momma called from the living room.

"Sure, I'll be down in a minute." I called back. Quickly I put away all of the papers in my search for Daddy away and raced downstairs. "Yes Momma?"

"Could you go out into the garden and get a book for me? I think I left it on the bench." She asked with a smirk on her face. Something is up with her. Why would she want me to get it for her?

"Sure, be back in a minute." I went out into the garden and headed towards the middle where the bench is in the gazebo (Grandma Esme definitely enjoyed designing this place). Jake was sitting there in the gazebo. "Renesmee Carlie Cullen, you are the most wonderful, amazing, beautiful, smart, funny, perfect woman alive. Will you marry me?" As he spoke, he kneeled down on one knee with a black velvet box in his hand in which he opened to reveal a silver ring with a heart shaped diamond. Oh. My. God. "Yes!" I squealed unable to get out any other words.

"You have just successfully made me the happiest werewolf ever. Thank you." Jake said as he slid the ring on my finger as soon as the ring was completely on my finger we kissed.

"Let's go tell Mom!" I pulled him along behind me as we ran towards the house.

When we were within earshot of the living room, I heard her talking to someone and abruptly I stopped running. "Do you know where he is?" Where who is? "No, we haven't seen him since the day of the battle, I've had visions of him hunting but it is like someone is blocking my sight of him." The other voice answered. I know that voice. It's... Aunt Alice's. I thought she didn't know where we are, I wanted her to but Momma said the less people that knew the better chance we have of keeping us safe. I pushed Jake back for a second and flashed him the one moment sign with my hand.

"Who are you talking about?" I asked walking in to find Momma, Alice, and Jasper. I know exactly what battle they mean, the battle with the Volturi. Aunt Alice walked over and embraced me in a hug immediately "You are so big now!" She exclaimed.

"We are talking about Daddy and where he might be, sweetie no one has seen or heard from him since the day of the battle." Momma carefully said. Instantly I remembered the dream I had when I was little. Even though I'm seventeen I have to play the one recording of the lullaby he wrote every night before I go to sleep or I have the dream about the battle ending badly again.

"That would mean... NO! I knew the dream was right, I knew it! You promised." As I processed everything, the realization hit that my daddy is probably... dead. I turned around and began sobbing into Jake's chest (I didn't hear him come up behind me). "Sssssh, honey it's okay." Jake tried to comfort me.

"He's not dead Renesmee, I've had visions of him hunting the only problem is I can't figure out where. I do know that he misses you and I promise your Daddy is not dead." Aunty Alice promised me and I believe her. I nodded okay and dried my eyes. He's not dead. Daddy is not dead.

"If he isn't dead, how should we look to find him?" Momma asked with a slight amount of hope that I hadn't heard in awhile in her voice.

"We have no idea, he's not in Forks or Alaska or Chicago, there isn't any clues to find him." Uncle Jasper spoke for the first time.

"I say we wait and continue to call him." Momma suggested. I want my Daddy, not a voicemail message that hasn't changed since I was a baby. If we don't look for him, we can't find him. Daddy knew exactly where I am supposed to go and if he could freely come home, he would be here right now, he promised me the night before the battle that if something happened he would come find me because I'm his baby girl.

"But, if Daddy could freely come here than, wouldn't he be here already because he promised me the night before the battle that if something were to happen he would come and find me. Daddy promised me." It's hard not to get worked up over him being gone.

"I don't know Renesmee, please calm down." Momma asked.

"Okay, you guys can discuss this more; I'm going to go get some sleep. Night everyone." I kissed Jake goodnight and hugged everyone else before heading upstairs to my room. Once I was upstairs and alone I grabbed my file on trying to find him and began to put the pieces together on where he probably is. An hour later I realized this: if no one had seen him since the battle then that means the Volturi have him, Momma always said that they wanted him for his talent and refused to kill him. From what I know that isn't good.

The Volturi have Daddy, no, No, NO! There's an emergency bag under my bed that I have in case someone or something comes after me or any one of us. I grabbed the bag, my purse, wallet, locket, and a few things out of my room. Taking one final look around me careful not to make any sound jumped out the window. I ran making sure no one was following me I continued to run until I reached the boat on the backside of the island. Putting the keys in ignition I began to drive until I got to land.

Okay, airport, where is it? If I take this road for three miles then I'll be at the airport.

Two hours later, I was on a flight heading towards Washington, where I can start the search for Daddy. When we landed, I pulled out my phone and called the cell-phone number I was given when I was little, no surprise it went to voicemail. "Daddy its Renesmee. Momma and Aunty Alice think you were captured, if by some miracle chance you weren't please, please, please call me, I'm in Forks, Washington looking for you. The phone should tell you the number to call me. I love you Daddy, bye." I hung up. Over the years, I'd secretly made phone calls to him and left messages. I have never gotten a response from him, sadly.

My phone began to ring... Momma. "Hello?" I am so grounded. "Renesmee Carlie Cullen where are you?" She practically growled into the phone.

"I'm looking for Daddy, I'm grown up now and I'm getting married, I want my Daddy to walk me down the aisle and I am going to find him." I argued back to her. Every girl dreams of the day her Daddy will walk her down the aisle on her wedding day and he'll give her away to the man of her dreams, well that's what I want.

Edward's Point Of View:

Sixteen and a half years ago, the unenviable happened. The entire Volturi army came after my little baby girl. During the fight, I forced Bella to take Renesmee and run. They didn't rule in our favor and wanted to kill Renesmee or take her captive. As it broke out into a full-fledged battle Bella and I said goodbye quickly before she ran off clutching our daughter to her chest. Bella didn't look back and honestly, I'm thankful she didn't look back or I'm not sure I would have been strong enough to let her leave. Even just watching the back of her leave was torturous if she had looked back there would maybe be an outcome of her here with me, which isn't a good thing.

I left Renesmee a note on her dresser. Even as an infant she seemed like the type of person who would not let anything get in her way. I was sure that she would come looking if I didn't return. It was left in the few moments I had to gather my things.

Bella must be furious at me. She's strong and stubborn which has to be good for Renesmee. The only thing that worries me is when I left the first time Bella was emotionless and unresponsive, I hope that she wasn't like that on accident; I know that I was emotionless without her.

In two-hundred and eight-four years I am able to go find Bella and Renesmee. It feels like another eternity until we are reunited. I would have left years ago if Aro didn't threaten to kill Renesmee and Bella if I escaped. Aro sees Renesmee as a prize or a toy. He wants her for his guard. He sees Bella the exact same way. That's how I ended up here:

*flashback*

As I watched Bella run off holding our daughter in her arms, pain went through me. Not pain as Jane could cause but pain in my unbeating heart.

Aro held up a hand to stop everyone. All of the fighting ceased as people eyes went straight to the devil in vampire form. "Renesmee and Bella won't be hunted if Edward gives himself up to the Volturi for three-hundred years." He spoke and all eyes went straight to me. Esme's eyes caught mine especially, she looked torn. Three-hundred years without Bella, how could I do that when an hour without her is hard? However, Bella and Renesmee need to be safe.

"As long as you don't go after or touch Bella and Renesmee, I will go with you."Everyone gasped as I spoke. Emmett and Rosalie looked furious. They seemed to think if I stayed maybe, we could win. I couldn't risk anyone else's lives; I needed to go with them. I need to protect my family. Esme still looked torn. Carlisle looked proud that I was doing this for Bella and Renesmee but angry with Aro.

*End Flashback*

I don't know where Bella is. She kept it a secret from me on purpose just so Aro couldn't listen to my thoughts and find them if he were to change his mind. I have written letters to our cottage to her on the off chance she went back there.

Renesmee's seventeen now. I wonder what she looks like and if she is married to the dog yet. Unfortunately I have to thank the dog for going with them to keep them safe.

I wonder if Alice and Jasper or anyone else from our family has found them. Alice at the time she left to go look for answers couldn't see Renesmee or Jacob at all which could make it hard to locate them. Since Bella is around them all of the time it must make it nearly impossible to find them.

Two-hundred eighty-three years, three-hundred sixty-four days, twelve hours, thirteen minutes, and fourteen seconds until I can see Bella.

Renesmee's POV

I walked into the Volturi Castle, which was a very dangerous move on my part, and walked into the throne room. I stood by the doors waiting for someone to notice me. After about five seconds Aro looked up and saw me standing there and silenced the arguing guard.

"Go get Edward immediately and bring him here," Aro said, and beckoned me forward.

I walked up to him slowly and stood in front of him holding his gaze quietly. The doors opened again and I turned around to face the people that entered. A gasp echoed through the room and I looked at the person it came from.

"Renesmee," my father said in disbelief. I nodded once and he ran up to me pulling me into a hug.

"Mom doesn't know that I am here. Keep it that way," I thought to him and he nodded. I turned to Aro and said,"I want my father to go free and I will take his place here."

My father stared at me in shock and so did the guard. Aro however laughed and grabbed my hand to read my thoughts.

"Very well my dear. Your father is free to go," he said after a few moments. I turned to my father and thought at him,"GO and tell mom and Jake that I love them." He nodded once and left the throne room quickly as the tears began to run down my face. I was never going back to the place that I had once called home and would never see my fiance again for however many years I had left.

Edward's POV

The guard came to my room and told me that Aro wanted to see me, so I followed Demetri and Felix back to the throne room. The doors were opened by Alec and I was able to see a girl of about seventeen turning to face us. I gasped the sound echoing around the room and said,"Renesmee?"

The girl nodded once and I ran up to her pulling her into a hug.

"Mom doesn't know that I am here. Keep it that way," she thought to me and I nodded. She turned to Aro and said,"I want my father to go free and I will take his place here."

I stared at her in shock and so did the guard. Aro however laughed and grabbed her hand to read her thoughts.

"Very well my dear. Your father is free to go," he said after a few moments.

She turned to me and thought at me,"GO and tell mom and Jake that I love them." I nodded once and left the room quickly to grab my stuff. After I was packed I left Volterra knowing to go to Isle Esme thanks to my daughters thoughts. I got to the island with no problem but getting past the dog was another thing and I had to call Bella for help.

"EDWARD," she screamed throwing herself into my arms and sobbing. Her scream had the rest of the family coming out of the house and crowding around us.

"Edward how did you get here. They said three hundred years," Carlisle said, confused.

I looked down at Bella and up at Jacob and said," A girl very much like Renesmee showed up and took my place. She wouldn't listen to reason either and was very stubborn. She wanted me to pass on that she loves her mother and Jake."

"She knew what she was doing didn't she," Bella asked looking at Alice.

"I didn't even see her there. All I saw was Edward coming home," she answered quietly.

A groan came from Jake and he hit his knees sobbing.

"Jake we will get her back to you. We just need some help from everyone who came to our aide sixteen and a half years ago," Bella said, putting her arms around him.

We looked at each other and a silent communication went through us both. It was going to be hard to get them to help us again.

Renesmee's POV

"When my mom and Jake get their hands on me I am dead," I thought as I laid on the bed that my father had formerly occupied.

A knock on my door told me someone was there and I got up to open it. "What does Aro need now Felix," I asked the vampire in my doorway.

"He just wanted to know when you would like to go shopping for some clothes," Felix answered and I sighed.

"How long am I going to be here," I asked him.

"Two-hundred eighty-three years, three-hundred sixty-four days," he replied and I shook my head.

"What crime was commited that my father had to serve three hundred years with you guys," I asked in defiance.

"Ask Aro that not me," Felix answered me, with a smile on his face. I glowered at him and swept past him to talk to Aro.
